Why does everyone prefer TweetDeck over Seesmic Desktop? I've been using Seesmic since it was in private beta and have loved it. Lately, however, I've noticed that almost every person I'm following uses TweetDeck. Am I missing something?

How are Seesmic's DMs better than Brizzlys?
- Manuel Mas
Lucas, TweetDeck preceded Seesmic Desktop. I believe it has more features, and it has always seemed more robust. Manuel, Brizzly's DMs are pretty good. What I like about Seesmic Web's DMs are the history and grouping of the entire conversation, not just those that are new.
- Louis Gray
Louis - Off the top of your head, do you know what any of those features are? I've been reading about TweetDeck's features and haven't been able to figure out which features it offers that Seesmic doesn't. I actually used TweetDeck before Seesmic came out but it's come a long way since then.

Question - How do you configure "Groups" with TweetDeck? On Seesmic, you have to wait until that person Tweets something, then you can assign it to a group. I'd really like to be able to go through the list of people I'm following and assign each one to a group. Would TweetDeck help me with that?
- Lucas
Lucas: Do a search for the person in Seesmic and from the results, you can add the person to a group immediately. Louis uses a Mac, so let me say that on Windows, most people find Seesmic Desktop more responsive and robust than TweetDeck.
- Mahendra (SkepticGeek)
Mahendra - Thanks for the tip! I actually use a mac but I've still found Seesmic Desktop to work very effectively. I've spent the past 2 weeks trying to take note of what app everyone was using to post tweets and have been amazed that pretty much every single person I follow uses TweetDeck.

I certainly agree with the first comment after the title. ;-)

And Digsby is best at notifying you across the social media/email/IM landscape.

Why isn't Tweetie getting any love in here?

When their powers combine...they form _____ . Seriously, they all need to be rolled into one.

I really like Seesmic Desktop, but setting up groups is so frustrating I abandoned them completely. Tweetdeck handles groups the best for sure.

I'm liking Simply Tweet on Iphone, DestroyTwitter on Desktop
- Kim Landwehr
I agree except for the iPhone. I prefer Simply Tweet.
- Keith - @tsudo
SimplyTweet is way better than TweetDeck on iPhone
- Robert Scoble
from iPhone
@dabr is so handy on the phone, gravity is particularly useful and @twhirl is more visually finished that @seeismic albeit more limited. @tweetree is the right point of functionality between the dryness of twitter and the verbosity of friendfeed

tweetie home, tweetdeck iphone and brizzly everywhere else..
