Shey: I agree but inevitable -- as soon as something is popular someone will attempt to capitalize from it by producing a best of or top xxx list and Guy seems like he is in business to do that everywhere
- Brian Sullivan
This is so damn emo. "Boohoo, it's popular now, now I can't like it anymore." Are we pissed because we're not #1? Or are we tired of being reminded we are not the A-list?

lol@keif -- way to sound intelligent there. I'll explain in a post later. You're not even close on this one
- Shey, Jamaican of FF
The issue is that it has the potential to turn Friendfeed into a competition that will damage the quality of the discussions and participation.
- Kevin Bondelli
Wanna tell me the best wine? car? camera? fine. Tell me who the good people are? Ick. Go away with ya.
- Michael Markman
I don't think Frienderati will "turn" FF into a competition. For many it was already and will continue to be. There will always be some sort of most followed, most following, most comments, most likes competition as long as a measure is published somewhre. What bothers me generally with the xxxati lists that Alltop produces is that they seem to be a money grab on Guy's part that have no basis in any reality or verifiable numbers.
- Brian Sullivan
hate this. makes me NOT want to be an avid user. hate hate hate
- Jeremy Toeman
Alltop did the same thing for the twitterati. Didn't seem to make much difference, except everyone named put a link to twitterati.alltop.com on their homepages.
- Andy Murdoch
There's a lot of people on that list that don't actually participate in FF, but just use it to lifestream their content. I'm not against that practice in the least, but it makes you think what it takes to be considered a "Top Friend" in FF. All this list consists of are top online personalities who just happen to also have FF accounts. Doesn't sound like what we might consider "Frienderati" to me.
- Nathaniel Payne
This list changes so fast (a good thing) that I can't imagine anyone publishing it. The Alltop 'formula' pretty obviously also includes 'strictly Twitter imports' which I think skews it (a lot). The good part..... some new names out there, finally highlighted in some way.
- Charlie Anzman
@jeneane :) Thanks, that has more value than any top 250 list

funny... I'm not subscribed to most of those people. It's not that they're evil or anything. I still think FriendFeed's advantage is the conversations between real people. That being said, Guy is an awesome guy, and I still want him to autograph my copy of The Macintosh Way. :)

I agree with Shey and Kevin, too. I keep saying I don't get it. Please explain to me why I should follow a list like this. I thought the point of finding interesting people to follow was because they are interesting to ME, not because someone told me I'm supposed to find them interesting. Can someone say Baaaaah?
- Trish R
I find it frustrating when people release software built on something they don't even use. Guy has his twitters and stumbleupon imported, that's it. 2 comments. Ever.
- John Duff
Oh boy! There goes the neighborhood. Another popular A lister "list". I have genuine concerns about how folks will feel intimidated into feeling as if they don't "rate" on FriendFeed.
