Hey Robert, I have a $100/mo Rackspace Cloud site, but I'm just a small blog and really can't justify spending that a month, so I'm trying to sell "chunks" of my site starting at $9.95/mo to others who are in similarly in my shoes. If you're going to show CoTweet and Seesmic, you definitely should show TweetDeck and HootSuite. It might also be a good idea to show some of the URL shorteners like bit.ly.

Hi all. For those of you interested in the technical side of these real time updates, the technology is known as 'Comet'. I've been looking at the Glassfish server - https://glassfish.dev.java.net... - which is an open source implementation of the Java EE application server, which can do this.

you can do comet on pretty much every server platform, the only annoyance being the httpd spec connection limit. FF have no problems since they have only 1 comet entity.

i am eagerly waiting for the FF filters that will allow to filter per person per app, so i will be able to filter out some people who tweet a lot which I want to follow, and the filtering will be either ban one app but not another, but also keywords, or even better, only what other friends have liked or commented. That will be powerful
