I cannot tell you people how much I fucking hate Microsoft Office. Student trying to print handouts in PPT with page numbers that don't start with one. Instructions for doing that begin: "1. Output the PowerPoint file to MS Word. Alternately, write a VBA macro."

Steve's solution: "If you are printing two slides per page and want the page numbering to start on 32, create 61 bogus slides at the start of your presentation, then, when printing, tell it to start printing on page 32." We'll see if that is a good or bad idea in a minute.

Yeah. I think the problem is that PPT doesn't think in terms of "pages" until it's ready to print, and otherwise it's thinking of "slides." So when you say "don't print the first 64 slides," trying to outsmart it, it says "ah, don't worry, I know that the first page of the print job is ALWAYS number one, regardless of how may slides you aren't printing. I GOT THIS!" #dunning-kruger-effect

If you have AdobePDF writer, print all the pages as a PDF then just print the pages you need

I have nothing useful to add, but am compelled to chime in and agree that MS Office fucking sucks.

To add my own recent rant, there is NO good reason why Microsoft Word can't open anything ever that was written in Microsoft Works without a converter. And the converter Microsoft offers is idiotically not compatible with Windows 7. *tears hair*
