I've heard of teaching faculty who half half time appointments in two departments. Does anyone have any librarians who are half-time appointments in the library and half-time appointments to a non-library teaching department?
no, but if i weren't already doing two jobs, i'd be interested in working this out at my institution as well. possibly adjuncting is on my "to discuss" list with my liaison department this summer.

I had a 75/25 with SLIS for a year, before I ditched the libraries.

It's structured different ways, but its not unusual for academic law librarians to have some allocation of time towards teaching law school classes. I have it as part of my allocation of responsibilities in my current appointment, but I know librarians at other schools that have a second appointment for teaching.

Our law librarians have a course load in the law school, teaching legal research. So far we teach as overload on top of regular duties, but are preparing for academic affairs to start expecting us to teach in departments. My first demand will be a formal course load as a percentage carved out of my 80% "supporting the educational mission of the university" part of my job description. I would be interested in hearing how others handle this.
