Had I infinite time and money...well I wouldn't do this. BUT y'know if I had more time and money, I'd like to make a series of videos on how to use the library that looked like first-person fantasy/SF games, a la Skyrim and Fallout.
So a professor would talk into the camera and tell you that you need a certain book and that would start the quest "Into the Stacks." And then onscreen you'd open the campus map and fast-travel to the library. You would approach the reference desk and the librarian would ask what you need, and a dialog menu would open up and you would scroll past "Where is the bathroom?" and "Can I have some tape?" to "How do I find a book?" - bevedog
There'd be a bit on using the catalog to find the book and you go to the stacks and get it, but then someone with a sword is blocking your way who needs that book and there'd be a fight and you would search the guys body and find his iPhone and stuff, and then go check it out and all that. - bevedog
Would your housecarl get in the way? - kendrak
Ha! Yes, that would be awesome. - bevedog
They level up when they get their first library card. Additional level up for age-appropriate storytime. (I'm working on the public library version here, Steve :) - Louise "Weezy" Alcorn
how about "developmentally appropriate" rather than "age appropriate"? - DJF
yes, that. Thanks David. - Louise "Weezy" Alcorn
