Whether we want to think about it or not, death is something to think about. The death of Ed McMahon at age 86 was hardly shocking,but nevertheless I felt a twinge of sadness that his earthly life is finished.He lived a long and apparently good life. The death of Farrah Fawcett was not unexpected either, after viewing her documentary on her courageous and valiant fight against cancer that had returned. Yet sixty-two seems too short a life. I had hoped that she would win her battle with cancer. I had been praying for her, even though I never met her. Michael Jackson was an entertainer for all time, but the 80swas his big decade. He was born with a musical genius and gift as a dancer that was evident by the time he was five years old. His album “Thriller” was the all time best selling record. Yet for all his talent and fame (or perhaps because of it) he appeared to be a lonely and troubled adult child. - Lynn Albro

During the designing of the recording studio, my goal was to create an intimate retreat that was divided into two primary areas: a control room and a studio room. These are separated by a 4 ft X 5 ft triple glass window. I have been in studios that have consoles costing $600,000 (SSL 9000 series) and home kitchens setup for digital recording that cost under $5,000. The price point for my design was $40,000 for the structure and $125,000 for the recording equipment. My being a general building and Electrical Contractor gave me a big advantage and cost savings for the materials and labor on the structure. A cost savings was also realized on the recording equipment because I was not in a hurry. I have spent about $100,000 on recording equipment to date. If I purchased that same equipment today it would cost 3 to 5 times that amount. This is because there is a huge demand for vintage analog equipment. - Lynn Albro

Building a recording studio starts with a dream and ends with the ability to capture and recreate sound. There are many considerations, such as: design, form and function, and types of equipment. We broke ground in June 2009 and we will be update week by week our progress - Lynn Albro
