All this talk about backyard deer. I would love to be able to see wildlife from my own house. My friend has a lovely house in Conn. and she complained that deer eat her bushes. And I was like -"But anybody can grow flowers - how many people can see deer?"
Around here it's generally traditional to put up Christmas decorations on St Nicholas Day Dec.6. I usually take them down on 12th Night. That gives you a whole month of Christmas mood without the overload you get from starting too early.
Went out for drinks with 2 guys from my old job. Had 2 16oz Resurrection Ales and part of a 3rd (one of the guys couldn't handle the 3rd so I talked him into sharing). I was totally cool until I got home and realized I'd left my hat and scarf at the restaurant.
I have yet to realize that I'm retired. Last week was full of Dr appointments and tire repair, and today is a holiday anyway. I imagine it will sink in some time later this week that I actually have nothing to do all day.
