It has been a remarkable journey of inestimable contentment working under the supervision of such eminent Engineers of the BTPS, Deepnagar. At the risk of forgetting to mention some names, a modest attempt has been made for appreciating the work of all the persons who have made valuable contributions during the internship and also in the preparation of this report. INTRODUCTION Tanjung Jati “B” coal fired power plant as a steam energy system, requires a thermal conditioner system to maintain steam pressure inside the boiler by maintaining low temperature layer above the turbines. It requires a large and continuous supply of thermal exchange medium to meet that point. The most possible medium is the low temperature of sea water, since it is always available and not expensive. A system to draw sea water to the plant is called Sea Water Intake (SWI) System.
