@travelblggr South Africa, Western Cape province (near-ish to Cape Town). Nice part of the world.
All hail the BBC iPlayer, which has come to the rescue where Sky+ has failed me, conking out halfway through Defying Gravity's final ep.
RT @stuartgibson: 10 Words You Need to Stop Misspelling - The Oatmeal http://theoatmeal.com/comics...
On another TV-related note, disappointed to learn Defying Gravity has been cancelled. Yet another decent SF show that wasn't given a chance.
Given that I've yet to see anything positive about Day of the Triffids, I've nukes my recordings of it. Those three hours are precious.
@BadAstronomer Thanks for this - NH is the probe I'm most interested in, and sadly the one there's the least happening with. For now. :)
Elemental Gelade Complete Collection #anime #dvd review http://www.mania.com/element... /via @ChrisBeveridge <- A very generous 'A' for a so-so series.
@stuartgibson Been tempted by their Sulaco shirt for a while. Hmmm. ...and boo to Flash-heavy websites.
Letting the kids burn off some post-Christmas energy. — at Play Cafe http://gowalla.com/spots...
@chiieddy That may be true, but seems to be being seen as an over-reaction here...
@scribb Nemesis also expected you to take it seriously, new Trek doesn't - and that's the way it should be.
@chiieddy I wish - someone here pondering sailing to US instead of flying coz of flight restrictions. Tweet was meant to be an @ reply. ^^;
6-7 days, apparently. Depends on the ship. Nice way to travel (did 2 weeks Cape Town to Southampton once), but expensive.
@chiieddy 12 days after is traditional, I think. At least over here...
@eddieishere All the more of it to enjoy for yourself then! :)
@shiroihane No, Sky did live-action versions of Colour of Magic and Hogfather - very good.
Just noticed Sky 2 are marathoning the two Discworld TV series tonight. ::records::
@aniki21 Both Bebop and Quality Street are worth gorging on, I reckon.
And finally: children in bed, arse in chair, beer in hand. Bliss.
Dinner done. Onward to pressie opening, session two. No pressies for me this year, other than contributions to the iSlate fund...
@ChrisBeveridge Postong reviews on Christmas Day?! Stop it! ...ooh, Sgt Frog... :)
RT @johngirvin: RT @cuchullain: Empire Strikes Back not Christmassy? IT'S GOT SNOW AND A FATHER SON PUNCHUP FFS!
@johngirvin Silent approval is a wonderful thing. Have received same for the purchase of an Apple tablet, when it eventually appears. :)
@stuartgibson Have a few of those to work through too. Kids are too busy with the opened ones to pester me about them for now though. :)
Is thinking un-Christmassy thoughts about people who design toy packing that needs screwdrivers to open. But why!? Oh, and Merry Christmas!
@ianc14 It's try-before-I-buy. Problem is the ads in the free version are so obnoxious I don't want to reward the devs by buying. Lose-lose.
...and the award for Most Annoyingly Intrusive Ads in an iPhone game goes to: Words with Friends Free. Grrr.
In a case of spectacularly bad timing, our main oven has died. Doing Xmas dinner in a 1-shelf top oven should be fun.
