Paul Buchheit
Cool! Did you create this Gary? This has been on my "things I personally want" list for a long time. Does it work with all the carriers?
Yes, I created Mail2ff. It should work with any carrier that can send email. - Gary Burd
With sprint at least, you need to download the photo from their dumb website (I think there's a tag in the html that gives the url). Also, it would be cool to address rooms using +roomname (nickname+key+room@ff2mail.com). - Paul Buchheit
Is this intended to be more for phone 2 mail, as Paul is trying? My test from a standard e-mail client was picture perfect. (I assume it works with GMail as well) - Louis Gray
re: rooms - I will add support tomorrow. re: sprint - I'll see what I can do if you send example mail to my Gmail account. - Gary Burd
re: intended use - Although mail2ff can be used from any email client, I built mail2ff for use use on camera phones. Sending email to @mail2ff.com from a desktop computer is not any easier than using FriendFeed's web UI. For most phones, email is the only way to upload a photo. - Gary Burd
It's also handy for forwarding content into ff from email or cc'ing ff. - Paul Buchheit
Is specifying one's own storage anywhere on the roadmap? =) - Drop dead, gorgeous!
@bleys Can you give an example of the storage you want to use? - Gary Burd
Thanks Gary! - Mitchell Tsai
Great job - thanks for putting this together Gary! - Frederic
@Gary: Gallery2 where I currently keep photos and such. A Picasa album. I understand that any personalization like this will require storing user data on mail2ff server (everything needed for the existing workflow comes in the e-mail, right?), so it's a large and not-KISS change for sure - Drop dead, gorgeous!
it worked well using gmail with my mobile phone, using a photo as attachment! thank you for this. mobile posting with images makes ff (even more) better than twitter!!! - Alessandro
@Alex Picasa and Gallery2 are more difficult than FF for the reason you noted. Support for these services is not on the current roadmap. - Gary Burd
@Gary: got it. The service's great regardless. Thank you! - Drop dead, gorgeous!
