The most interesting - music will live legitimately in the cloud. I'm really anxious to see what the market receives for on demand streams beyond what lala and spotify currently provide, and more specifically, how that will marry with the growth of mobile.

"Makes sense, but I'd bet my monthly data usage that de la Vega is having a mild stroke right now...unless AT/Apple strike a deal to make this accessible only on wifi. http://mashable.com/2009..."

"Yeah, here's the sequence: 1. Install MyWi via Rock my... 2. Under MyWi, WiFi Tethering is off. Under Tethering "USB and Bluetooth" is on. 3. In General Settings -> Network, Internet Tethering is On. 4. To be safe, I also went to General Settings -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings (then repeated step 2 and 3). I do not see USB or iPhone in my network settings. Have you verified this to work on OSX?"
- Matt Albiniak
"Thanks for the quick reply, but iPhone isn't an option in my network services (existing or add). Screen shot of network settings: http://bayimg.com/KaFkNAacA"

"I've got the app installed and can tether via wifi on Snow Leopard 10.6.2, but I can't figure out how to use USB to tether. I know how to enable it in MyWi, but I don't know how to get my Mac to use USB as the internet connection. I'm assuming it's obvious, but I'm obviously lost :)"

"Not bad, but a distant second when compared to Quan Hoang's farewell video (Quan recently left Minneapolis' Periscope) http://vimeo.com/7466335. Win? I think so."

"I can second this from firsthand experience. I've been an iPhone user since the original 2G/EDGE release, but was faced with a switch to Sprint after moving to Chicago (and a tragic accident involving my iPhone a bad jailbreak and a brick). I picked up the HTC Hero and constantly found myself trying to find the *right* options screen, the *right* way to navigate back a screen, and the *right* way to quit the app (saving precious battery life). I won't even touch on the "why does this phone with a Google logo not integrate with our Google Apps" topic because 2.0 sounds like it will resolve that. Even if it does, Android is still laggy, still has poor interaction design, and still has the challenge of supporting myriad hardware configurations across multiple carriers. Sounds like Windows, right? The switch to Android was painful, but made the switch back to the iPhone that much more enjoyable."

"Want the worst phone in the world? Try the HTC Hero with Android 1.5. The basic things you covered here are completely fumbled by the Hero, and even if you go the Google Voice route (again, on 1.5), you're in for a world of hurt and disappointment. If you're emo, get ready to really cut yourself. The only problem I can relate to is the dropped calls, and that's because I'm in Chicago, where 6 in 10 commuters have an iPhone. Solution? Turn 3G off and use the EDGE network for voice. If I'm trying to find my way around (data), I'll go back to 3G. Then again, even when I made the brief switch to Sprint, EVDO was painfully slow, too. The gripes this post makes against the iPhone should be levied against US cell networks in general, but whatever. Now that the Droid is officially the second coming, all the cool kids are slamming on the iPhone -- hands down the best smart phone on the market. mla"

"rick, i appreciate the dialogue, and without question, you've gone through the process whereas i'm making critiques from the sidelines. one is easier to do than the other (spoiler: sideline criticism is easier). also, bonus points for demonstrating the first rule of social media: talk about social media. kudos for listening, considering, and continuing to push the community forward. all the best, -matt"

"hm, sounds similar to something i posted to the ning site almost a year ago. http://smbmsp.ning.com/forum...... there is a surge in the number of "i'm not here for the content, i'm here to see my friends" comments i've heard over the past few events. i think it's great that the group has grown and thrives, but with that comes growing pains. i wish rick the best of luck in tackling these, and as i move to chicago, will absolutely be sharing some of the lessons with the socmed chicago groups. all the best, -matt"

I'm excited to announce the launch of Fluent, the Social Influence Marketing report from Razorfish. This is the first report of its kind which understands who and what influences consumers at different points in the marketing funnel.

"i'm in the unqualified customer bucket. $200 from #squarespace gets me that much closer, so no complaints here. then again, i read the fine print before i got excited, so this isn't news to me."

"Fortunately, those horror stories are from lives past, not anything at the Nerdery. In fact, I've heard our guys have actualy done some pretty cool integration work with sharepoint, so I might make friends with it, yet. -matt"

"as someone who was traumatized be a bad sharepoint experiences, i'd have to say you're nuts, except for this incredibly on point observation: "customers generally respond better to businesses who are better run, the best way to run your business can also be the best way to market your business." eureka. as a customer in the market, i can't say how warm this makes me feel inside knowing that agencies are helping customers embrace this mentality. as always, great post, and looking forward to the next one. rock on, -mla"

"man, i can't help but laugh when i hear this. it's down right stupid how on point the lyrics are and how tight he pulls it together. mally's got big things ahead of him. it's about time minneap gets known for something other than that emo spitting mollusk. if you haven't heard the other two albums, grab em here: http://www.myuzk.com/mally-f..."

""Of course, most of these actions are illegal in many countries, so no one is openly taking responsibility for them" Call me nuts, but it sure sounds like Anonymous is taking responsibility. Or, said a better way, leading the charge. Fighting the good fight. Violently giving it to the man. And I'm cheering em on."

"two quick observations. 1. how is that guy single? 2. looking at the related posts, he's in good company: val carpender, heidi klum, and hilary duff. oh, and this is literally the ONLY time i've had fun having my picture taken. alec brings the top shelf game with serious credibility."

"i was going to say something similar to jill's response. it's amazing how many times i can see pictures of emerald bay in lake tahoe, but it's rare that one strikes me as wow. this was a wow. who cares if it's "cliche?" which, by the way, i don't see. i think you made it your own, and i really like it."

"what kind of problem are you having? i was able to install and load it on my os x machine using firefox 3.1b3, firefox 3.0.7, and safari 4. not saying you're not having a problem, just saying what i'm using to get it working ;)"

i'm not sure i agree with any of that fast company list. if that's what innovative is, leave me out. apple gets credit for the ipod/itunes thing, but what's new and innovative?
