GF attended her interrogation interview today. Relatively painless - the friendly face of fascism. Won't get papers back for 14 weeks (!)
@benwerd @ernmander - I feel like I've walked into a monkey island fencing contest.
Lo the wind was blusterous.
@mattythorne Agreed. Shame, if they were a bit cheaper I think a bunch of people would jump at the chance...
@benwerd Not sure. A number of places offer sage subscriptions at various prices, but that's not quite as handy.
Thankyou twitterverse for all your advice!
@benwerd Any thoughts on crunch.co.uk. Seems like a fairly good idea, but possibly priced a little high to take a punt on
Oxford people: Can anyone recommend a good accountant?
Figuring out what your company is all about - http://www.joelonsoftware.com/items...
@jpstacey glorious!
@noelleannik apparently it's under martial law.
Dear advertising people. If you make me listen to that "Here come the girls" song one more time I swear I will hurt you.
Umm.. So what the hell is going on in Ukraine?
HMRC say I owe tax for 2007-8. I did - all of 9p. Cost of letter + handling card payment > 9p. Couldn't we call it quits? #fail
Car crash on horsepath driftway. Ambulance and Fire dept in attendance. No delays but lots of smoke and steam.
@OlgaMeow Yes. Yes it does.
Is working hard on a cool new client project. Pondering food, but that would require fighting my way to the shops.
@benwerd Yes, very nice looking. But only lasts a couple of years before you have to throw it away as you can't replace the battery.
iPhone dev: is a Mac *absolutely* required these days? Seems a little short sited to cut out developers on other platforms.
@benwerd True. People should assume the network is hostile for the same reason nobody uses Telnet anymore.
So, http://www.boingboing.net/2009... + http://news.bbc.co.uk/2... = efficient state censorship mechanism. The #trafigura gag order looks positively friendly.
@Hedgewytch If making my industry impossibly expensive wasn't bad enough, new copyright laws bring in state censorship without trial.
@paulsq Because they have fallen for the guilt by association fallacy. When exactly did the UK become the GDR?
Also what is a Communication Service Provider? They don't just mean ISP... starting a social network? Don't run it on UK servers!
@benwerd I'll be right there on the next plane, but I suspect it's only a matter of time until this is everywhere.
I wonder if there's a market for an ADSL router/TOR appliance. Won't stop SN data-mining, but could stem the tide of oppressive surveillance
RT @bbcworld: Home office says it will push ahead with plans to ask communications firms to monitor all internet use. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2...
The inherent racism and xenophobia in the bureaucracy of UK state agencies is truly astounding.
@benwerd What do they have in the way of IP protection / privacy guarantees?
Any recommendations for commercial SVN repos?
