Is PopURL a different link search than Bit.ly? (dumb question I'm sure) If so - here's what's getting retweeted and popular over there: http://www.bit.ly/app...
- Josh
PopURLs is curated search PLUS Twitter
- Steve Rubel
from IM
cf. http://bit.ly/buzz which aggregates links from Twitter, Jaiku and Identi.ca -- plus optionally shows corresponding user comments; going bit farther back into "history." Though I like Thomas Marban's minimalist web design.
- Adriano
I found this new feature sometime ago, new popurls v2 adds sharing option to Twitter, Pownce, Tumblr and of course Friendfeed. I come to use popurls (again)
- Kristian Salonen
I didn't realise this, will have a look now.

"Usain Bolt celebrated his coronation as the world’s fastest man 20 meters early, throwing out his arms and thumping his chest. But he still obliterated the world record in the 100 meters Saturday night, turning his Olympic gold medal performance into a show of astounding talent."

I haven't seen the final yet, but during the heat before, it looked like he was jogging, yet he was ahead of everyone. It is like he is holding back so he can break his own record later. Bolt is insanely fast.
- Bret Taylor
I just wished he'd race it right to the end and got a *really* time

He's got to think about his career. If he peaks too early it's going to hurt him financially.
- Adewale Oshineye
Is there a video posted for the race yet? Can't find one on NBC's site.
- DeWitt Clinton
Adewale - you're right. Either his sponsor or some race director will pay him well to set the record again this year.
- Hutch Carpenter
I agree with Bret, Adewale, & Hutch. Much better to break the record as many times as possible. Plus, it gives him more personality! Yesterday I was watching his 9.92 and it didn't even look like he was breaking hard...it was so easy.
- Mitchell Tsai
Ugh, photobucket has the worst flash media player ever.
- Tanath
What an feat of performance - he just blew away the other "fastest men" in the world. Between Bolt and Phelps, I really have to wonder how much further we can peak in human performance...
- Vince DeGeorge
seriously @vince...he obliterated the field!
- .LAG liked that
I wonder if he can challenge MIchael Johnson's "Beamon-esque" 19.32 200m record. It sure seems like it.
- Jeremy Raines
Also -- you know, we're not promised tomorrow. It seems like a true champion would want to set the record as low as possible on a fast track & grand stage, regardless of future incentives.
- Jeremy Raines
now that everyone's seen it in HD. - that guy just pushed everyone else who ever sprinted off the table.

Just watched the French video of this. He looked like he coasted to a 9.69. wow.
- ha3rvey (Ho)^3
I hate it when they don't push hard till the very end.. He could easily have run much faster, but instead had to start celebrating at the 90m mark. It was such a big race as well. I would have been more impressed if he ran it all the way in 9.60-9.65 than 9.69 or whatever it was officially at the end.
- Colin Archer
he just doesn't care about the time, honestly, in ten years when the time has been broken, I think we'll all remember the watching him shut it down at 70m and start celebrating
- Richard Lawler
from twhirl
That was insane. Never seen a 100m run so fast and err .. so casually
- Deepak Singh
Fabulous news for you, Andrew, as well as Joanne, Kenyatta and the rest of the crew -- many congratulations.
- Stephen Mack
Thanks again everyone, 'pretty damn psyched!
- Andrew Baron
It just goes to show you that hard work and perseverance pays off. You guys really did it the right way. Hopefully I won't have to get a damn PS3 to see the show. ;)
- Sean-Michael Robinson
That is quite an accomplishment Andrew. Its inspirational to here your struggles and successes over the last few years. 7 figures is nothing to balk
- Chris Conway
at in this economy. Now I suppose you can affoard a 6 fugure idea man on your team. hahaj.k.
- Chris Conway
Thanks for the detailed post on this Andrew, and especially for outlining how you explored options with traditional entertainment co's and hired CAA as reps... Those are avenues I've considered with an entertainment news property I'm developing (nothing like Rocketboom) and it's encouraging to see that strategy pay off. It's also pretty awesome to see someone benefit from the hard work and creative drive connected to a passion for a project rather than an industry. Congrats and best wishes for the future!
- Stacy Bond
Congrats Andrew, you were a pioneer long before anyone else. Looking forward to seeing what else you do with Rocketboom.
- Robert Scoble
Congratulations, Andrew! - You've totally earned it.
- Julie Perry
Kudos Andrew. Does this mean Rocketboom will include rootkits now? :P Make the most of it!
- Mark Forman
Awesome video, and again, congratulations. The puppets were great but I was a little distracted by the fabulous Michelle waving around that serious chunk of ice.
- Donna Mugavero
PopURLs is deactivating its Twitter section thanks to the new API limits
- Louis Gray
excellent move, more parties should, in order to get Twitter back on track again
- Adri Munier
never really understood the value of that feature anyway. certainly i've used popurls as one of my main homepages for a while now, and i've never clicked on a twitter link.
