1. Bob Dylan 2. Lou Reed 3. Tom Waits 4. Johnny Cash 5. John Lydon 6. Ian Dury 7. Leonard Cohen 8. Nick Cave 9. Siouxsie Sioux 10. Jarvis Cocker
- RAPatton
I think Tom Waits can sing really well. He chooses to sing with that style but still a good singer.
- Rodfather
I think he /used/ to be able to sing well, but that was many years ago.
- Michael W. May
I think Siouxsie Sioux can sing, too. She has a nice warble.
- Admiral Anika
Yes, they can sing. What the tele is complaining about here is that they don't like their instruments. And in some cases that they don't like the style in which they choose to sing. But I've heard most of the artists on this list and they're all capable of holding a tune. I actually went off on this kind of attitude recently http://friendfeed.com/music-b...
- Spidra Webster
Yes, this list is like any others, subjective. Link bait. Comment bait. (at the source, not you RAP hehe)
- Michael W. May
Hard to argue about Bob Dylan though :)
- Eric Logan
You should hear Leonard Cohen now. Went to Red Rocks in June -- wow.
- Christopher Galtenberg
Johnny Cash? I counter that with the cover he did of Hurt. I challenge anyone to find a more poignant version of a song. And he sang it well and true only a short time before his death.
- Jason, Mosquito
If you are going to mention Lou Reed, you have to include Nico too.
- Martha
That list includes a bunch of my favorite singers; limited voices yes but still much more interesting than many of the pretty-voiced singers.
- m9m, Crone of FriendFeed
What Crone said! Music (vocal or otherwise) isn't always supposed to be perfect and melodic. Sometimes making it so actually undermines the point of the work. Just ask Bela Bartok. (Oh wait, he's dead.)
- Mark "Mr Bolivious" J
Also, there are many many covers of "Knockin' on Heaven's Door", some quite moving, but nobody, and I mean NO BODY, does it better the Dylan.
- Mark "Mr Bolivious" J
@Jason - I recall reading somewhere that Cash's cover of "Hurt" made Trent Reznor sound like he was whining over a prom date. It really was remarkably moving. As far as the list - I adore six of the ten.
- Marci Maleski
Yeah, Cash's "Hurt" surpassed the original by a hundred miles. It's wonderful.
- Jason, Mosquito
As soon as I saw Johnny Cash on the list, it lost all credibility with me.
- Derek Coward
My first experience with Hurt was Johnny Cash's music video. I was quite simple arrested by it; reflecting on it now, the view into my own humanity in that moment was wrenching and purging all at once. I'm still dumbfounded about it.
- Micah Wittman
Oh Yeh: I saw it two - had so much meaning in this context: Did you guys see the news short about the UFO like object coming out of the WTC @ 9/11 then heading East ,high , smoky, and fast really fast????
- ThatDBD
I can get with that. But, prudish as this may be, I'm not so in love with people who get naked in public. The size of the person mattes not in that circumstance.
- pea
Well, not saying I'm gonna strip in the drive thru, but I have to admit I can't stop staring at her pictures. I think I might secretly be a chubby chaser.

DO ANYBODY NO WHY THIS AINT IN THE CONFESSIONS ROOM
- Rochelle
@Mo, heh. I've only once dated a guy who was into "big" girls and I have to confess I was uncomfortable about that. I've dated guys who didn't care, which is different. Being wanted for my extra weight made me feel weird.
- pea
Monique, you know Iurve you, but I had to hide that post since I've got my laptop open here at church. Yikes.
- ha3rvey (wants confit)
I just love pretty people, whatever pretty may be at the moment and time for me. It has nothing to do with size. I'm not going to limit my pool of interest. What's the fun in that?
- pea
I'd like to know where the pics like that are of the FF ladies.
- ha3rvey (wants confit)
@pea I'm not limiting my pool of interest; I like pretty people too, but there is something about a big, pretty girl that does me in.
- DO ANYBODY NO MONIQUE
I've always been more physically attracted to curvy girls than twiggy ones, but of course it's the person themselves that truly counts.
- Ian May
oh nowz you lezzy on us Mo? Work that!
- sofarsoShawn
Another big lover here. You gotta have some meat on your bones. Can't get with you if I look at you and the only think I'm thinking is "that girl needs a sandwich".

About 30 years ago I walked through an urban park near Copenhagen's city center. Lot's of office workers sitting on the grass, eating lunch and catching some rays. Many (males and females, of various shapes and sizes) took off the shirts/tops and just enjoyed the weather. No big deal, it seemed. My only thought was: what a great country! (Mostly because no one was getting stupid or abusive toward anybody else.)
- Mark "Mr Bolivious" J
Um... okay, so a naked, full-frontal pic in the AVATAR in my Best of Day feed? Not appropriate. :-(
- Ladybug Heather
On my screen the avatars are so tiny sometimes I have to click on the person's page to actually tell what is in the picture. If your experience is different, my condolences. Not changing the avatar for a while though, so you may want to hide me or something.
- DO ANYBODY NO MONIQUE
Yah not particularly happy you changed your avatar to that pic either. I mean good for her or whatever, but I don't want to look at that every time you make a post, and I like your posts. :(
- Haggis (Sean Loyless)
See, I am split on this. There is a part of me that says "OK, wait, FF is a public forum and we do have some expectations in public forums". Then the rest of me is like "Shut up, dude! Titties!".
- Neal Jansons
If you go on Safari for the purpose of getting a Fox onto a Leopard, what does that make you?
- MiniMage TKDteacher of FF
As the various members of the animal kingdom prepare for the battle with humans for the planet, the recon efforts are increasing dramatically. It used to be limited to squirrels and birds. Also we will soon see an increase in attacks as they begin a coordinated test of our defense weakness points.
- MVB (Curmudgeon of FF)
from fftogo
Rochelle: maybe not in the city, but we see them down here in the sticks from time to time. Coyotes, too. In my neighborhood. (keep kittehs indoors, ya know?)
- Bren -- Making Contact
from iPhone
We had coyotes around where I grew up (N. Snohomish County) and cats had to be indoors a lot because of it. The wildest animal we have here is raccoons.
- Rochelle
Akiva, blame the platform. Foxes on FrontPorch is rock solid.
- Micah Wittman
I guess when their ratings are down, Rupert Murdoch just sends the fox right to your house. That's one way to make sure you see it. Let's call one of them Glen Beck.
- Pete Delucchi
Seriously. Would you people stop liking/commenting on this? It keeps popping up to the top of my stream and I have to stare at it again.
- Akiva Moskovitz
I have seen this a million times on myspace for years... we all have I'm sure. it is just great to comment here because then we can snag new people that are stupid enough to comment. ....you were the one who posted it Akiva. Fresh Fish for the TROLLS... hey Igor... 86 likes here means the bounty is ours. mo ha ha ha ah Fresh fish were looking at the stupid cat.
- Noah David Simon
I've got one thing you'll understand (Dr. Feelgood)/ he's not what you'd call a glamorous man (Dr. Feelgood)/ Got one thing that's easily understood (Dr. Fee lgood)/ He's the one they call Dr. Feelgood

I've said it before and I'll say it again: if I want animation on my desktop, I'll grab a window and then whip it around the screen with my mouse.
- Akiva Moskovitz
It seems to be the only animated gif that doesn't crash my browser, too. COINCIDENCE?!

"Someone abandoned this puppy on the street... My sister found him crying outside her door. My parents decided to take him up, so he's found a new home in the countryside. The kids loved him at first glance and named him "Scooby" :-)"
- Anna Haro
so so so cute. this pup has a very human kind of face. like when young kids seem to have old souls
- tiffany
Anna- bless your family's hearts for their complete generosity and kindness. | Tiffany- well put!
- Donna Mugavero
That's the cutest puppy ever! Glad your family decided to take him in :) So many dogs and puppies are being abandoned right now. It makes me so sad..and I just want to take all of them in...Yay!
