"It really does seem like he's like a small child acting out for the attention. Probably best to ignore him altogether since it doesn't seem he has anything of relevance to add to the conversation."

It's the religious groups that are putting the screws on those on the left who are caught in the middle between their beliefs and the new health care bill.
- Rene Wirtz
Religious groups? I hadn't heard that. I was led to believe it was ConservaDems holding it hostage. Which religious groups are involved?

It is not a fact I am stating, but you are right, it is the conservative dems (the ones most religious probably) who have difficulty reconciling their beliefs vs "appalling" things like abortion in the bill. I', pretty sure the catholic church and the LDS are using everything they can to sway the blue dogs. Also, see how Patrick Kennedy was banned from receiving communion because he is not against abortion like a good catholic should.

I think if they want to lay claim to the word, then they have to actually start teabagging at these protests. At least it would be something to cover on the news.

Now comes the hard part: holding everything together.
- Mark Dodson
Very true, but at least the cloture sends a message of extra pressure to the blue dog dems. I don't think we have to expect anything from the other side of the aisle, but at least their votes are not required to pass the bill.
- Rene Wirtz
"I'm continually stunned by how far of the deep end some of these folks have gone. I was always aware that the right was far more effective at nursing political tribalism than Democrats were, but it's seriously approaching a cult-like devotion to their idea of authority."
- Mark Dodson
Why we're at it, ask why they didn't push back harder, or at all against the elevation of Roberts and Alito to the Supreme Court? I'm afraid they've been a classic example of the "veal pen" groups Hamsher wrote about not too long ago.

"I've wondered myself if this isn't the beginning of the end of the elders of the party who have refused to push back against the lunacy the Tea Party lunatics. There are slightly more sane voice in the party who have been pushed out in favor of these folks. Maybe it's time they used this as a pretence to take their party back. It'll be fun to watch for the next few election cycles though."

Hi all. If anyone has a Google Wave invites I would appreciate one - me[at]patrickpushor.me . Let me know how I can pay you back! No invites at the moment to trade.
I have an extra invite code for EpixHD. It is a 30 day trial code but its better than the 3 day trial that they give out. First person to send me a google wave invite gets it.
Was wanting to try #Chrome for #Mac with Google Wave, and I'm seeing all these dire warnings about stability of Mac Chrome & Chromium. I've been using Chromium on Ubuntu (including Flash) for weeks with nary a crash.
"On Monday, we reported on the House GOP's plans to target AARP in the health care reform debate. Republican leaders say AARP is supporting changes to the Medicare system included in Democratic health care reform bills because they would result in more sales of AARP-branded insurance. They claim that "backroom deals" between executives of the AARP and Democratic leadership -- deals the GOP say are designed to protect the executives' high salaries -- led to the group's pro-Medicare reform stance. Yesterday, the message gained traction among the right wing commentariat. AARP flatly denies the claims and says it's beginning to feel a little like the GOP's new ACORN. "Oh, absolutely," an AARP official told TPMDC. "They're using their standard methods to target us.""

Am I the only one who think that graphic looks like an elephant passing gas? Hilarious!
