FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
I just wrote the phrase "Ability to effectively interface across all levels of the hierarchy." I must really be desperate for a job =P
This reminds me of that 'résumés in plain language' site that was around during the dotcom crash. It presented this kind of language in actual, real language (but in a snarky way, of course). It was hilarious. This probably would be translated into 'I can have conversations with people. Even people not on my own team!' - Akiva Moskovitz
LOL Wash it off! - Captain Bubbles
Akiva, that's pretty much it. I dislike business-ese, but a gal's gotta do what a gal's gotta do! - FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
oh Christ, you're starting to sound like management material there...moving forward. :P - Joe Silence is not dead
Dude, if it means getting a steady paycheck I'd be willing to sound like a longshoreman... - FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
Just avoid the objective! I don't know anyone who still takes those even remotely seriously. - Akiva Moskovitz
i'm not criticising, i'm just making light. :) - Joe Silence is not dead
I understand, Joe =) But seriously, if anyone knows of a job where I can get paid for talking like a longshoreman, lemme know! - FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
The verbiage around my shop is salty enough that sometimes I wince. - MVB (Curmudgeon of FF)
I soooo wish I could 'effectively interface across all levels of the hierarchy' - Holly Rae, FFer

Are Amazon.com feeds still not working? Is there a plan to fix them?
? - joey
Joey, I hope so, but it's been broken for a month. For now, I'm using the bookmarklet if I really want to share an Amazon link (and looking for another aggregator) - Greg Guitarbuster
I'm taking this opportunity to add all the really embarrassing stuff to my Wish List without anyone on FF knowing... - tinypants - Hagitha of FF
Greg, I thought about that but I'd like it all from one place so if it gets fixed I don't want to re-add it. I'd just like to know if there is a plan to fix it or if I should give up. - joey
Any update? - joey
I really miss seeing items that my friends share from Amazon. - Greg Guitarbuster
"FriendFeed.com will continue to operate normally." - http://blog.friendfeed.com/2009... -- obviously Facebook has a different definition of "operate normally" than the rest of us, if they can leave a supported feed broken for so long! - Scott of Two Countries
Sigh. I would just like to know if it will ever get fixed or not. - joey
It is October16, 2009 and my favorite feed still does not work :( - Mark Horne
this is ridiculous - Lindsey is Fierce!

I love that no one cares to respond to this room at all. It's a wonderful alienation tool - Lindsey is Fierce!
Whew. It isn't just me. Sure would be nice to have this fixed for Christmas. If they don't plan on fixing it, why is it still an option in the add/edit list? - Becca
Joey, thanks for asking again. I was thinking the same. It's been 3 months now. - Greg Guitarbuster
Amazon feeds should be working again. Sorry for the delay in getting this fixed. - Benjamin Golub
Thank you!! - Greg Guitarbuster

"The news that creditors of Dubai World will not be made whole by either the governments of Dubai or Abu Dhabi is still being absorbed by the markets and journalists, many of whom assumed that a bailout was in the works." - Fulaan, inna Hebel from Bookmarklet
Then again, Dubai is really small and doesn't have the rabid, panic-mongering media to whip the population into a morbid fear of total economic collapse in the case of no bailout. I firmly believe the reasons behind the most recent recession are as much rooted in psychological snowballing as they are in economics and hard numbers. - LANjackal

I finished the first book in the Twilight series today. My impression of the book... 500 pages of this: Bella to Edward: "You are soooo beautiful" Edward to Bella: "But you should be afraid" Yeah that's it. Obviously not written for those with a Y chromosome.

Meant to spend this week listening to 2009 albums to finalize my Best Of list, but Michel Legrand and 1960s jazz took over instead. Oh well.
Well, and film scores. Because Michel Legrand could go that way, too. I just need to get the Young Girls of Rochefort soundtrack already. - Jandy, ConcertMaven of FF
Branched out now into some earlier jazz, too - added some Ellington, Fitzgerald, Armstrong, etc. to offset the film scores. That's my favorite thing about Slacker - lots of fine tuning on the station, so you only get stuff you want. - Jandy, ConcertMaven of FF
