Heh, how do you know your URIs weren't the flu? I think the flu vaccine is only really important if (1) you have a baby (2) you're elderly (3) you have a chronic disease (4) you're a health care worker (5) you live with or spend a lot of time with anyone in the previous categories. Anyone in those categories has a higher risk of dying from the flu, or causing someone to die from the flu. - Victor Ganata

The flu vaccine injection won't give you the flu. It's an inactivated virus. The nasal spray vaccine is a live attenuated virus, though, and shouldn't be used if you're immunosuppressed in any fashion. If you feel sick after getting the flu vaccine, it's probably because your immune system is going aggro. - Victor Ganata
