This is superb. I just showed it to my 5 year old son who enjoys Lego and has already taken some great photos, including one or two of his toys. So now he has the seed of the idea that, in time, he could take multiple stills and put them together to make moving pictures. Lightspeed Partners also invested and Metamorphic Ventures, which participated in the all-Googler $600,000 seed round, ponied up again. Testing out a Twitter retweet using Favorites. First, import your Twitter Favorites into FriendFeed as an RSS/blog feed, using a URL like http://twitter.com/favorit.... Next, tell FriendFeed to post your imported entries to Twitter via http://friendfeed.com/setting.... That's it.

Once done, in Twitter all you have to do is Favorite something (the star that no one uses). This will get posted in your Favorites RSS feed which will be imported into FriendFeed. Then, FriendFeed will post this to Twitter and will look something like: lancearmstrong: @taylorphinner breaks the US record in the "kilo" going 1:01. As he says, "slayed it".

Hootsuite will allow you to import RSS in a similar manner and will poll X number of updates per hour (where you can specify the number X) in addition to allowing you to pre-pend additional notational text in front of the tweet (so you can add "RT" for example)

I recently started to play with my favourite Twitter feed using Yahoo Pipes with the intention of feeding it back to my Twitter account. I used Pipes to add the suffix '#fav', but didn't take it any further.

just an FYI @Pat Hawks: you can't use twitterfeed to post back to twitter from your twitter favorites feed.. "Twitter does not allow posting of twitter feeds back to twitter..." is the error message provided by twitterfeed - its too bad because twitterfeed gives you the option to prepend RT: if you could get it to work.. I suppose you could pipe the feed then use twitterfeed to circumvent the restriction

I set this up but the retweet didn't happen the way I wanted it so I created a pipe at yahoo pipes to help http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes... put your username in the field, hit "run pipe" then click the "get as rss" link and use the address it takes you to as a service here.. then reshare that service to twitter.. It will prepend the retweeted item with RT: @ so that the original author is cited as normal and the RT: label is present.

It seems as if the main problem with most people in the examples shown is their forehead is too short or too narrow. Wonder if there's a subtle clue that big brains are beautiful there! :)

@SB yeah and the forehead adjustment... almost like there is a triangle with the forehead at the point and they flip it so the chin is the bottom of the triangle... weird.

Lindsay: whenever sketching generic faces, the face starts as an inverted triangle and the eyes appear a third of the way down from the top of the forehead; lips and nose appear below and above (respectively) a line 1/3 up from the chin. Looks like these pictures are rearranged to meet that particular school of drawing.

The artist proportions were laid out by the Greeks as the perfect human, that's not being used here. This beautification engine, I think, builds on top of a previous study where some students tried to mathematically identify attractiveness. They had participants rate the attractiveness of head shots from yearbooks. What they found was there was a high correlation b/w the geometrically "average" face and high attraction. That "average" is based on the proportions of the di

stances between the individual elements of the face and their relative sizes. IIRC the software adjusts elements so they statistically/geometrically complement each other. It's not actually working toward a golden set of proportions, but a set of proportions appropriate for the individual as defined by the masses. I wouldn't think of it as "facial discrimination" so much as "deviation from ones potential".

I am looking forward to playing board games on the iPad while travelling with Karen. This is the first device I can really picture two people using at the same time, which seems like an opportunity for some truly new types of software.

not sure about this, the form factor may still be too small to be comfortable for two players simultaneously looking at it, or touching it. Now with blue tooth connexion between two iPads, I would see lots of opportunities for boardgames, including games where each player need to keep some information secret (his hand of cards usually).
