When I realised I had to shorten URL's manually by opening another FF tab, TinyURL, copy-paste, that was the precise moment, I reached for Twhirl. I adore the built-in, 2 click URL shortening. - Andy C
I'd imagine that someone out there already came up with a bookmarklet that prompts you for the URL, hits TinyURL in the background and comes back with the result, which goes straight to your clipboard. Nothing like that? - Aviv
To be fair, Twitter Web does does auto shorten URL's but only sometimes and the rules aren't clear. It's like playing Russian roulette. - Andy C
I noticed that. It does the same thing if you forget to shorten in twhirl, so I always have to remember to shorten before sending. Now if only it would insert the shortened URL at the cursor, rather than always at the end... - Voyagerfan5761
I share your concerns about horses for courses and the fact that these tools may split and having done one thing very well, may end up doing many things poorly. I recently asked FriendFeed to import OPML into Imaginary Friends. After some thought, that wasn't important as I was trying to bend FF into GR which it is not. After that, I would probably want Starred and Shared Items. PS. Great to see an amusing 'in bed' thread on your screenshot. engtech will have to think of an equivalent for 'via Twhirl' now :-) - Andy C
Andy I hope engtech doesn't lol ...via twhirl - Corvida
With the latest reverse development, now it's chaos! - Charlie Anzman
