That's a gimmick? Are you kidding? Street signs on corners in Tokyo are in drawn 3D as a point of reference for navigating streets, based on urban landmarks. If you said that about Lively, yeah, I'd agree, but can't quite figure out how a physical and topographical place browser is a gimmick. Like Google maps is probably a gimmick too, right?
