Good article, Mathew. You are pretty dead on. Auctions are a great market clearing mechanism for certain types of goods or services but not all. I also wonder if the erosion of eBay's auction is business is also due to an erosion of trust caused by changes that have been made to both the buyer and seller side over the last several years. - Kevin D.
