It took me 1.5-years to get RSS after Dave Winer first showed it to me. So, I am getting faster. Took me just a few months to get friendfeed. Glad you kept after me.
- Robert Scoble
So how do I access it? <---I take that back. Didn't realize what I was looking at when I went to the site.
- Mattie Kenny
Josh: it was a seasonal thing last year at this time, so it is no longer possible. We may have to bring it back by popular demand, but for now the entries you see are all from last year.
- Bret Taylor
Bret - bring back those cute little red icons next to the FF posts! easy seasonal "flair" feature!
- Susan Beebe
The fact that this guy got elected anywhere in the US (and is a former judge) is a very bad sign.
- Brian Sullivan
This is doubly hilarious if you turn of the sound and just watch Anderson Cooper's expressions.
- Jennifer Dittrich
This is gonna be great when it gets autotuned. I mean greatER.
- Josh Haley
Hilarious? -- it is downright pathetic in my mind.
- Brian Sullivan
Well if you could just look at the gaping hole in our security, it will all make sense!! These terrorists are not stupid!! They will come after us!! They. Will. Destroy. America. Terror babbies!!!!

Europe has racist and idiot elected officials, too. Case in point: Nick Griffin. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki... I don't think singling out one area over another as being superior somehow is efficient or effective commentary.
- Mattie Kenny
Heh. Which continent is more idiotic? Let's race each other to the bottom. Go!
- Victor Ganata
Gohmert = poopsnake...and not the good kind.
- Mattie Kenny
Holy crap, this is ludicrous. Absolutely insane.
- Chieze Okoye
So your point Mattie is that the UK and other places have some elected crazies as well? Does that somehow make this clown more acceptable or palatable?
- Brian Sullivan
No. I was responding to the guy who said Europe doesn't elect idiots and racists. Two posts above mine in the thread. I think the fact I posted this makes my stance fairly clear.

Ok -- your comment I was responding to was deleted-- seems somewhat revisionist but whatever turns your crank.
- Brian Sullivan
Um. I deleted the double post because post by email had a huge delay. Look further up and thanks. My return to FF will be short lived. This is precisely why I stopped using this place for conversation.

Good question. I guess fruit, vegetables, and rice?
- Rochelle
I ate gluten free without soy when I was vegan. It's a bit more difficult but not bad. Rice milk is considerably better for you than soy anyway.
- Mattie Kenny
I guess there are things like nuts and legumes that might supply enough nutrition. I think it would be very hard to maintain that type of diet, though.
- John (bird whisperer)
Lots of fruit &vegetables, and all those grains we hear about like bulgar (sp?) etc but never use, & she must be taking supplements for proper nutrition
- sofarsoShaw BAZINGA!
from Wikipedia "Deschanel broke with her vegan diet, because her food sensitivities made it difficult for her to stay healthy"

Since I can tell all you's guys what the big surprise is: I'm gonna sing JoCo's "Tom Cruise Crazy" at karaoke wearing a white dress shirt, white spankies and black Ray Bans ala Risky Business.
- Mattie Kenny
Ugh and it's at my favorite place on earth: The Henry Ford. I'm really bummed that I can't really help with all the planning as Handmade Detroit isn't a big part of my life now that I'm living in New Orleans. I think I might try to save up to visit my Dad and home around the time of Maker Faire...if I can.

We really just need a card that says we're above a certain age (16, 18, 21, whatever is applicable). It's silly to require full DOB (and everything else that's on a typical ID) when all they really need is a boolean. Under the principle of Limited Disclosure for Limited Use [ http://www.identityblog.com/... ] I'll only show an ID commercially if I'm assured that nothing is recorded or scanned. But never for a credit card transaction.
- Tinfoil 2.0
I agree, Logical. The amount of information that is on an ID card is startling.

It occurred to me today to make a wrapper for my license that only shows my picture, name, and birth year... for when I get carded. LOL ...There are three separate bar codes of different types on the back of the Illinois drivers license. I don't even know what all is encoded on there, I'm not about to let anyone scan them.
- Tinfoil 2.0
where do they scan drivers licenses? now that I've read, apparently in pennsylvania. Unless something has significantly changed, I don't think address or phone number was on my michigan ID when I checked, but that was years ago
- Richard Lawler
yeah, at least here it's lic# and birth date and expiration date http://www.michigan.gov/sos... so I wouldn't be concerned other than it being useless, is it different elsewhere?
- Richard Lawler
Another book I added to my reading list this week. Henrietta Lacks' ripple effect on the world of science has been incredible and should be a better known fact in early science classes. Not only should children learn the basic tenets of science, but also the ethics behind them. I wish kids bothered to TRY in school. They could learn so much interesting stuff.

This version of Alice in Wonderland is so fantastic and probably can elicit more discomfort and awe than the new Burton film. The effects are simple, but elegant & effective and probably venture one step too far into uncanny valley.
