@st_richard Bikes are great, and I walked to RRH at 5 a.m. before I got my car many times. But elderly/disabled can't walk/ride that far.
Ridgecrest is addressing transit issues on Monday - possibly moving to fixed bus routes. One step in the right direction. http://www.ridgecrestca.com/news...
Ridgecrest is very under served for city of 30k - no taxis, no bus routes, no Amtrak/Greyhound. You shouldn't need a car just to live here.
The current service is dial-a-ride... you have to call 24hrs before to schedule a bus. Before I had my car they were always late/booked up.
