"Layar was the first augmented reality application out there, and it looks like its just garnered its first big fan. Brightkite, also known as the “Social Discovery Network” just launched a layar for the Layar Reality Browser 2.0. This new layar adds a 'third dimension' to the AR application and lets users see what their friends and family are up to in real time."

My childhood dream has come true. I always wanted a device that could tell me where my friends where, kind of like a radar. I only wanted to be able to avoid them at the mall. I can still use this :D

Hector : If you wish to trace your friends, simply use google latitude on iphone (via safari) http://www.google.com/maps... . They of course need to use it in a way to make it work correctly.

Amnon: Almost nobody uses Android. I considered getting one, but the fact that I'd have to go to T-Mobile made it not possible. Also, the G1 sucks rocks. If Android wants to be a serious competitor, then they're going to have to a) get it on devices that don't suck and b) get it on networks that don't suck (additional: Not Sprint, because they suck worse than anybody, ever. AT&T is gold by comparison).

Facebook's 200-plus million members will be able to customize the URLs to their profiles starting at midnight Eastern on Saturday, according to a post on the Facebook blog. Currently, users' profile URLs have been structured as a string of numbers. At least for now, it doesn't look like the switch is mandatory.

MySpace had this YEARS ago. AND Glitter Graphics, Shitty Profiles, Spam, Single Moms, "MySpace Angle" Pics, etc. OK. But, might there be a bunch of Facebook URL Squatters ?

Supposedly accounts created after 3PM EDT today and anyone who made a Page after May 31 cannot get one, so you can't make 10 accounts this week and find yourself with tons of great URLs.
