TRAVEL WEBSITES of 2009
Wikitravel.com: Has compiled over 10,000 destination guides and articles submitted by travelers. The page offers dozens of links on anything travel related to a specific destination. Anyone can go on, sign up and help gather information to help Wikipedia & Wikitravel’s guide on that specific spot. Kayak.com: An oldie, but a goodie! Kayak won the Webby Award for 2009 and continues to be a premier spot to book online travel. It has one of the most comprehensive search engines in the online travel industry. Airlinemeals.net: Is known as the world’s leading website about nothing but airline food. Who hasn’t had a nauseating experience trying to eat a concoction that looks like eggs, smells like eggs (well, sort-of), but after further examination, is that typically gross airline food? Let’s face it, airline meals can sometimes be just plain NASTY. If you want to discuss your last airline meal, this is a site for you. It provides a ton of details (including photos) on meals from more than 500 airlines. They even have archives and photos of airline meals from the 70’s, 80’s, and early 90’s. I think airline food is just plain grotesque, but yet still very entertaining. A must see! Bing: Formally known as Farecast, this new iteration is backed by Microsoft) and known as Bing. I think it’s a great search tool when looking for competitive prices on flights. The site also offers a “price predictor,” which will forecast whether fares will go up or down. Travel Ticker: A new site that aims to help you sift through all the online travel bargains. I recently found my parents a highly discounted hotel room in NYC for less than $200 on this site. If you’re looking for last minute travel deals, this is definitely a site to check out.
These are just a couple (I’ll be posting more) of my current top travel website picks. I know, I know, some of them are a little off the radar. That’s why I’m asking you, what’s your personal favorite travel websites?

OK, I’ll admit it, I have a bit of a “girl crush” on online shopping guru, Michelle Madhok. Not only does Michelle run an incredible online business (SheFinds.com and MomFinds.com) with tips that will make any online shopping-addict drool, but also she’s (like yours truly) half-Indian! I’m hoping that my initial introduction to her will be the start of a very beautiful friendship. If you’re not yet familiar with SheFinds.com, I highly recommend you check out the entire site and these two very useful links:
SheFinds/Online-Sample-Sales:  An online sample sale calendar (including the invites), with listings from the best sample sale sites. It’s updated weekly, with SheFind’s pick for the best sale that day at the top. One of favorite tips from Michelle, when it comes to tackling online sample sales is to shop from the bottom up to avoid the “Sold Out” items. SheFinds.com/Soldout: It gives you the editor’s predictions of what will be sold out this year, so you can get a move on before the masses purchase that coveted must have holiday item.

iPhone Applications that will help you find Holiday DEALS on the go!

RedLaser: It uses the iPhone’s camera technology to scan any item’s bar code and get instant online access to prices and information. I’ve had this application since its inception and absolutely adore it!

Yowza!!: A coupon application that will use the iPhone’s GPS capabilities to find deals in your area. Yowza works best right now in metropolitan cities with a wide variety of retailers.

Coupon Sherpa: To cover your coupon-clad bases, I recommend you download Coupon Sherpa’s free application. It provides 100s of in-store coupons all from your iPhone or iPod Touch.

Online Banking Applications: I’ve been using Bank of America and Mint since they’ve launched to monitor my spending and keep me inline when I’m having a frenetic shopping compulsion. The BofA application allows you to transfer funds and pay your bills on the go without much hassle.
Tips for finding the Best Deals from Online Shopping Guru, Michelle Madhok 1. Follow your favorite retailers on Twitter and join their Facebook fan pages to find deals. 2. Tips for finding the Best Deals from Online Shopping Guru, Michelle Madhok

1. Follow your favorite retailers on Twitter and join their Facebook fan pages to find deals.

2. Sign up for your favorite online retailers email newsletters, but avoid a full inbox by creating an email address devoted to receiving shopping deals.

I’ve started to do this for all my online newletter accounts by creating a separate Gmail address for each one. I find it much less distracting having all this information in one organized area, rather than coming to my work email.

3. Price Alerts Please!

Be the first one to know when an item goes on sale. Here are some of my personal favorites:
Gazaro: Tracks sales fliers and popular shopping websites and then alerts you when prices have gone up or down. ShopStyle: Receive an email any time your favorite brands or products go on sale. Sale alerts can be set for all of your favorite brands or for any individual product. PricePinx: This site has a very unique take on price alerts by implement bookmarks, so you can scour the web and add items into their bookmarklet on your browser’s toolbar.  Whenever you’re shopping online and see something you like, you highlight the price and then click on the PricePinx bookmarklet. Then, when the price drops for that item, PricePinx notifies you via e-mail. PriceSpider: Great for price alerts on electronics. Shop It To Me: Free personal online shopper that notifies you when an item goes on sale.

There’s an app for that: DATING!

We now have the power of technology to aid us in the wild, wild, (often very biologically- charged) world of dating. With all these new developments, I’ve been racking my brain trying to find some useful applications out there that actually aid us in and on our dating excursions.

What do you think? Are there any iPhone applications that have enhanced your “Dating Chi”? What applications have you found most useful for dating and mating?
