We don't always stop for stray dogs, but we know what a bad combination a running husky + traffic can be. Although this guy was going for more of a stroll and went straight to Josh when called. Emily thought it was Gypsie ^_^

Perhaps I've straying too much on Tumblr lately. My mind went where it shouldn'ta. (Also, I don't know if that's the proper idiomatic spelling of "shouldn'ta" as a contracted version of "shouldn't of" which is a incorrect idiomatic usage for "shouldn't have"... but I digress.)

using SNA to describe how mediated info seeking (ref desk interactions) can contribute to our understanding "usage" of e-resources. the model aims to fit in the gap between proxy server stats (billions) and article download stats (thousands). it's my first truly conceptual piece. it's kind of messing with my ego.

On the one hand surveys about OA by publishers are bound to be carp. On the other, if we don't do them, how will we know precisely what kind of carp they are?
For example, having question #17 suddenly reverse how the 1-10 scale maps to most-least important compared to all previous questions. (I used the next available text box to alert them to this in strong language.)

Deborah, a "workplace climate" survey that MPOW did several months ago did EXACTLY that. I was horrified.

what you have done with that blog in six years is nothing short of astounding.

i'm an idiot. had my nose out of joint about the way they changed who reviewed for ASIST a few years ago. This year my SIG put out a call for reviewers - i only got two and one was a conflict. when i asked asist they said if i'm willing they'll give me other reviews.... i think i now have 7. oh well, it will be interesting!
I've started knitting a sleeveless sweater. The color is more burgundy than it looks here. The fun thing is that it's knit all in one piece. No sewing at the end. :-)
Does it have a three needle bind-off? I like the pattern.
- Running Slow
Nope, just regular bind off. I'm knitting straight across the top right now, leaving a slit for the neck by having two balls of yarn going at the same time.
- lris
That's a very pretty pattern.

Thanks to the auto-capitilization in Outlook, the shortened URL I sent out to all library staff/faculty that should have led to a sign-up sheet? Instead takes them to this Dr.Who/The Big Lebowski video mashup. LOL I'm sure glad it wasn't anything NSFW!!! http://io9.com/5986329...
375g self-raising flour, 170ml cold lemonade, 170ml thickened cream. Mix the lemonade & cream together, fold into the flour until it's just mixed into a light dough. Roll & cut (preferably with a sharp knife or scone cutter), bake at 225C conventional/205C fan-forced for 12 - 15 minutes or until lightly golden.
