Sorry. I wrote this tweet on @notsecretscoble and am moving everyone from there over to @scobleizer

I'm with Burgin, it was nice being followed for a short time.
- Ben Hanten
Why not just filter through the people who deliver good content and put them in a special column on Tweetdeck? Aren't you the guy who enthused about collective intelligence from China?
- Melissa
Melissa: using third party tools for stuff that should be fundamental is VERY lame.

I'm scratching my head on this one, tho I can sort of understand. I'm tempted to do that myself on Twitter with a few of my own followers

a bit of experimenting with how one uses the various services is a good thing

Did you enjoy Harry Potter? Most of my friends were disappointed. I'm not into fantasy flicks myself, so I don't feel the need to see it.

from BuddyFeed
Well, it wasn't as dramatic or intense. The pace was slow and the feel was somewhat languid and moody. It wasn't an adventure flick. It felt like a set up for the last movie. The ending reminded me of LOTR II.

BREAKING NEWS: World economic meltdown, global war on terror, Iranian uprising, swine flu pandemic all cancelled after Matt Drudge discovers stray unflattering picture of Barack Obama apparently glancing at a girl in a red dress. EVERYBODY PANIC http://drudgereport.com/#drudgefail#panic
LOL Brendan, come on! First, there's no longer a War on Terror, if there ever was one. Second, the economy is getting better just ask an administration official, Ahmedinejad won the election fair and square, and swine flu is a myth inspired to scare people. Get it right!
- Melissa
Heh. :) On an unrelated note, Nicolas Sarkozy looks like Mr. Bean.
- Brendan Loy
Robert, your relentless FF love is affecting me. And also, I've had a weird surge in FF followers this last week. I'm not the only one. Has it reached critical mass? I'm starting to submit to the FF love. Why'd I even fight it?
- Melissa
Melissa: it's a doubling penny. Ever study how a doubling penny works? For the first 20 days most people think it's lame. Then it starts seeming like it's important. :-) We're at about day 15 for friendfeed. Twitter is on day 34. :-)
- Robert Scoble
I guess so. Still, I find that I have a FB window, FF window and Tweetdeck open simultaneously. I have yet to find a way to cohesively put them together.
- Melissa
[Quick Poll] Does it make sense to create an "A-list" group on FF just as people assembled a list of "A-list" group of bloggers? What would happen to the dynamics of the site if people only interacted with the "A-list"? Would that promote or inhibit interactions between people?
"UNLIKE" Let's keep the labels outta the FriendFeedz.
- Brad Williamson
My main feed has everyone. I have lists based on field of primary expertise as best as I can ascertain based on posts and Identify data. Like Wordpress Expert, Tech Blogger, Coder, Designer, Print Media, FFundercats etc.
- Eric Logan
For now I've only filtered for hot comments and the like, I'll give myself another week before a definitive answer.
- ElijahBailey-Zu of FF <0,
I've tried doing lists with the old UI, but I've did a bit too much at first and seems unable to really get at cleaning that mess yet.
- ElijahBailey-Zu of FF <0,
Brad - do you use filters to separate out people's posts?
- LPH™ and his dog P™
The Top 10 which used to be on the old version and I think will eventually be coming to this version didn't affect the interactions on FriendFeed. I don't think it will if you created that list either ;)
- Nicholas James
My list (if anyone cares) is divided fairly easily -- everyone, family, twitter only, spammers, Linux, and Windows 7 ...
- LPH™ and his dog P™
By profession or "tag" of the working force terms or simply passion of. (i.e. lolkatz to SXSW advocate) but mechanically, I you're feeling good about yourself, despite some who can in fact develop anger through those same interactions, then you're good for a follow everyone, and if they get it at the same time, they get it.
- ElijahBailey-Zu of FF <0,
It would be sad for me to interact with the A list only, I would miss many people who have great things to say. I think it would be diminishing of the overall conversations that we have. But I can see where the list would be good for people just starting up. A "A list" per industry would serve a great purpose in many ways.
- Dan Morrill AKA Techwag
Dan: I only interact with the A list. Funny, I'm following eeryone here so you must all be on the A list.
- Robert Scoble
Due to the nature of FOAF there wouldn't be a lot of isolation. That said, as a member of the D list I wouldn't feel that great about it :)
- jcunwired
How about groups of people with expert knowledge in certain topic areas? These people could post interesting articles and conduct conversation around these areas... sort of like how newspapers should be. Engage your audience with interesting topics and with experts who know what they are commenting on.
- David Damore
The nature of social interaction is to reach out beyond your peer group and circle of interests. How do you know that the group contains everyone with that expert knowledge? FF works because you can create your own groups, and keep an eye on the community for those who interest you.
- jcunwired
I have almost everyone in my home feed, but also divide up into professions, twitter friends, etc., so lots of people are in several lists. And since his discussions are usually so active, I even have Robert Scoble in a list of his own.
- Sharon McPherson
It makes sense to do that to pull them out of the rest of your feeds. I definitely do this.
- Louis Gray
I use FriendFeed primarily to interact and find out all about my a-list friends. Everyone else that wants to connect with me that I "know" from Twitter et al goes into another group. Why? I'm not so sure I need to know every little thing about the people that aren't so close to me.
- Damien Basile
I'm getting a lot of new subscribers on Friend Feed, at a higher rate of growth than before. Is there a reason for this? Does it have to do with the new design somehow, some new functionality? Anyone know?
Jay: friendfeed's growth has gone up recently because of the new design and new features. But you also are more visible on the system lately because you are participating more.
- Robert Scoble
Participation gets me to subscribe to people. Epecially when I find they have a unique viewpoint.
- Robert Scoble
Friend-of-Friend feature as more and more people Like and Comment on your stuff here?
- Bora Zivkovic
You might be showing up in the 'Find/Invite Friends - Recomended Friends' section for some people.
- Ryan Dadey
I guess the Twitter affect helped FriendFeed as well
- Gal
I'm guessing it's the Friend-of-a-Friend feature combined with the new real-time layout. Each time someone comments, your posts show up in more streams.
- John (a.k.a. dendroica)
I transferred all my Twitter follows on who I want to spend more attention to FF!
- Stefan Leitner-Sidl
A combination of: The company you keep, The level of participation, The amount that your participation is Liked/Commented (and thus seen in FoaF), Being easy to google helps as well. Also the well noted Scoble Effect. (I found you when Robert liked something of yours, and googled you)
- guruvan (Rob Nelson)
Thanks, all. Is Friend of a Friend new? Is there something new interface with Twitter? Those seem to me possible reasons.
- Jay Rosen
I made the same observation yesterday, it is much more than a coincidence.
- Rick Bucich
My - and, I guess, other people's too - way of using FF has changed since the beta and now main revamp. The real-time and FoaF combination means I see more; it's not reliant on me hitting F5; the stream is constantly refreshing and things like this very conversation are so much more visible. Subsequently, I find I like more, comment more, and subscribe more now and some of that comes back my way too. That didn't happen to this extent before the revamp.
- Mark H
Yes, people suddenly seem to be finding me on FF, which is cool. It also motivates me to post more here.
- amygeek
Facebook Connect and Google Friend Connect are making it super simple to join.
- Peter Warnock
Threaded conversations. It's huge. Case in point: this exchange. It'd never happen on Twitter. (Thread-within-threads would be nice too.) ... I'd tried to use FF a few times in the past, but it felt impenetrable. Not anymore. Maybe it's the new design. Or maybe it's the desire to avoid the headaches induced by the staccato chirping elsewhere. This is a saner & more interesting place to be.
- Alan Mairson
How fast is fast? Is it atypical? Or is it merely subjective? I'm not a friend fiend, so getting new subscribers doesn't mean anything to me. I sat with an open account for a year with very little change. Since interacting there have been a few per day. In other words there is a directo correlation between my interaction and additional follows.
- Sheryl
I have also noticed more twitter followers joining friendfeed since the beta release. I recall suggesting on twitter "follow me on friendfeed" many times before the beta release, with few takers. When I started posting that with the beta link, there were many many more takers. I suspect that will increase even more posting the regular friendfeed.com link now with the new interface. There are also more of us posting "Conversation over here" tweets.
- guruvan (Rob Nelson)
Same thing is happening for me. It's a mystery.
- Melissa
There was a good profile in RWW. That's what I'm thinking.
- Paul B. Walker
Buffalo Springfield is writing a song about it!
