The "blue collar" workers I know are highly skilled, intelligent and brighter then many "knowledge workers" I've met. I wonder how often white collar workers like me upgrade our skills and use our intelligence in doing our daily jobs?

Good question I like the convenience of scheduling tweets, especially when timing is important for sharing certain information. But it does not replace real time tweeting, it's only a component of managing Twitter. Scheduled tweeting does not allow for interaction unless you are constantly monitoring, and in that case you may was well be Twittering in real time.

I using scheduling to space tweets out so they don't bunch up in a followers stream. I like to send tweets out daily and find I need to schedule some during my downtime. I take time and share, what I hope, is valuable content from ppl I follow along with content I discover from other sources. Real time allows me to have conversations with people around interesting topics in real time.
