Netflix isn't all one thing. Frontend is on Amazon, movies on CDN and backend in house. #ccevent
RT @alexwilliams: @randybias: Federated clouds do not exist without standards...period. #ccevent
The cloud isn't about moving your old outmoded systems to a new location. It is about building new systems that deliver at scale. #ccevent

@cxi I hear you. I feel like my DOS PC XT with 2400 baud modem doing ASCII was faster than a dual core Xeon with Win 7 and UVerse and GUI.
@cxi Haha, me too! I did those on the old Internet with Tymenet via Compuserve in the 80's but by 93 I was all about HTML and a home page.
RT @cxi oh not even. It was all about Reggie and Veronica! Lynx and more! < that was prior to HTML and fading by 1993.
@cxi In 1993 being on the Internet meant getting a site for your home page and typing HTML, now it means FB, G+, Twitter, LI and a blog.
@cxi You are not where the action is, but technicaly on the Internet, however Social Media is becoming Internet and open web is archaic.
I'm going to go geocaching on my mountain bike as it is a nice day and I don't think much else is going on.
@cxi Right, but FB, G+, LI are social media and require a login. One could be on the Internet with a site on the open web, even if archaic.
@cxi You might mean than they don't understand social media, unless the Internet has come to mean closed systems and not the open web.
@BrianMcCallion @jamesurquhart That's because of the cloud security issue, and I mean the IT job security issue. #cloud
I had a good job setting up servers and managing VMs, but now it all went to the cloud, so I got in to marketing. #cloudkill
@parkercloud I think you are right about that, the Plains Indians where the first to do cloud computing using smoke signals. #cloudkill
RT @BrianMcCallion: The more old school enterprise technology vendors I meet with, the more I recognize how soon passive companies will become #cloudkill
When people say that their concen with cloud is security what they mean is job security for IT staff. #cloudkill
@BrianMcCallion @jamesurquhart What are you guys on about? This cloud stuff will all blow over soon. #cloudkill
