I never really embraced Tumblr. Is Posterous really better?
@tpcarney talks about crashing DC parties himself on Hannity. Would rather that Hannity talk about Obamanomics.
@tpcarney You made a great point about Bush/Rumsfeld ignoring Shinseki that cut against all the other panelists arguments.
Teachers outraged at educational institutions that cater to student needs rather than teacher demands. http://www.nytimes.com/2009...
Reminder, buy Tim Carney's excellent new book on "Obamanomics" today. http://www.amazon.com/gp... I bought two copies.
If the Christian right had real power in America, ambitious people in the media would be sucking up to them, not spitting on them.
Wish I had been watching rematch of Leinart/Young instead of writing about rising populism on the Right.
@joannemurphy9 You do bring to mind something. The most "Irish" parts of the Catholic Church (Ireland, America) had the worst abuse crisis.
@joannemurphy9 The Old Mass has enhanced my faith. I find it much more engaging, & less patronizing. We disagree. Not the end of the world
@joannemurphy9 Well, justice shoudl be applied to those abusers of course. A separate question I think. God deserves beautiful worship. No?
My friend Ken Wolfe (that Ken Wolfe) has an op-ed in today's NYTimes on the 40th anniversary of the Novus Ordo Mass http://www.nytimes.com/2009...
I just generated my #TweetCloud out of a month of my tweets. Top three words: palin, tonight, fight - http://tweetcloud.icodeforlove.com/michael...
all my dc friends use twitter. none of my hometown friends do. unless they live in NYC
asked random guy about long ago crush. turns out i was standing next to her brother.
neighboring town has their reunion in the same venue. thinking of asking about crush from other side of the tracks
having fun at wife's 10 year reunion. probably because we went to the same high school
Really wish my root canal was not rescheduled by the doctor until after Thanksgiving.
En route to sister-in-law's in White Plains, then to her aunt's in Jersey. See y'all on the turnpike.
Trying to escape the gravitational pull of hometown bars tonight. It helps to be married.
And now I begin making the cornbread stuffing, with bourbon, and bacon thrown in for good measure.
What if a religious community of chaste women implant themselves with unused embryos, and raise them in an orphanage?
@willwilkinson Touche. If you used in vitro, would you sign a contract to prevent a religious group from raising 4 of your genetic children?
@willwilkinson Fertility clinics sometimes donate embryos for adoption, someday they might sell them. (Obviously the group is hypothetical)
@thestalwart Complete Short Stories. None ever feels so daunting that you inadvertantly quit reading altogether.
I repeat: Brining a turkey is only one of many ways to get a nice bird. And IMO, not really the best.
t's a "think positive" pep talk to avoid explaining/accounting the real destruction of Catholic liturgy, architecture, and education.
"Hemeneutic of continuity" is becoming a slogan to gloss over a practical rupture between pre and post-Vatican II Catholic Church
This is why my value as a commentator on things of wide interest is dwindling. http://twitter.com/michael...
My real passions: Mets unis don't need black, like USA doesn't need Constitution, and Catholic Churches don't need freestanding altars.
2nd Vatican Council inspired popular artistic destruction more than any event since the Reformation. There is no debating this.
