This is probably why we had all those regulations about testing and control of new drugs. Also probably why they shouldn't have been ignored thanks to the hype around swine flu - Michael Henley

BBC NEWS | England | South Yorkshire | Jail threat for urinating student - http://news.bbc.co.uk/2...
Yes what he did was wrong and maybe some form of punishment is in order but seriously is jail time called for? I don't think he is a threat to society for pissing on a memorial. Offensive to some yes, poor judgement shown (but after drinking I can't blame him), buy certainly not worthly of jail time. Fine him, give him community service but have a bit of sense please people. - Michael Henley

Royal Mail to face legal action - http://news.bbc.co.uk/2...
So they walk out, and RM get others in to do the jobs they refuse to do, and then they want an injunction to stop that. Power to strike must be balanced by power to sack (or here, replace). - Michael Henley

BBC NEWS | World | Americas | Police quash nude pumpkin run - http://news.bbc.co.uk/2...
We are living more and more in a controlled state but the sheer prude attitude which seems to prevail across the pond baffles me. Saw a story the other day where a guy wa being prosecutes for being naked in his kitchen because someone peered through the window and saw him. - Michael Henley

Twitter 'costs businesses £1.4bn' - http://news.bbc.co.uk/2...
Whilst I agree on the sensitive information and sensible posting points, I disagree with the productivity assertions. It works on the basis that they wouldn't have wasted 40 minutes a day anyway which is a bit daft I think. - Michael Henley

The way I read this is that he seems to be saying that this is some sort of bad thing, when it is in fact the case. I am an above-average user and the past days have shown how two simple clicks on the wrong button can lead to a massive fuck up. Of course people need to upgrade and keep current from a feature and security standpoint, but the fact that people have been taught to on the whole be slightly fearful of just doing something if it ain't broke, at least without proper comprehensive backups, isn't necessarily a bad thing imho. - Michael Henley

Jamaican Oxtail Stew with Guinness - http://helengraves.co.uk/2009...
