Trying to figure out if there's some way to have friendfeed update my Facebook status properly, as opposed to just throwing stuff in my stream from the friendfeed app. The status quo is better than nothing, but the only way to keep my status properly current in FB is to change it there, which makes hopping back over to friendfeed feel redundant.
I may have to go that route, but the roundabout aspect of that solution offends the programmer in me. Especially because I don't otherwise use Twitter (though I have an account) so I feel like I'm creating a duplicate stream of spam and foisting it on the internet. DRY!

I was just thinking that. If the TweetFace app can do it then there must be an API hook for it...

Mike, yes, there are APIs for both FriendFeed and Facebook. You should buy my book to get a primer on the Facebook API :-)

Oh I know there's an API for FB, just didn't realize there was a specific hook for updating the status. But now I have proof! As much as I would love to own a book written by someone I used to play "throw stuff around the office" with, I don't think I've bought a technical book like that in 8 years. They just get outdated too quickly.

I think my favorite thing about the new realtime Facebook stream is the "Feed Error - Your Session has Timed Out" message. I've noticed lately that my session seems to time out quicker, and when it does a lot of their AJAX stuff silently fails or does weird things. It would never prompt you to log in, it was up to you to figure it out.
Now that the stream AJAX is constantly polling and has a meaningful error message there's no more need to wonder.

Sitting here trying to update my SANE installation for the tenth time this week to get my scanner working. How does it work on my wife's laptop that I hardly ever update and not work on my infinitely more tricked-out personal installation??
