In Pic #3, I am holding my youngest brother (picture in 1984). In pic #4, I am with my younger brother who was a year behind me. He is sporting one of our Superman capes.

These remind me of Chris Pirillo's kid pics. Do glasses predestine you to become a geek? :) I think I'll ask the government for millions of dollars to study that question. Fascinating.

Adorable !! Thanks for sharing :) I wish I had more pics of my childhood (they're all at my Mom's house!)

A reliable source just contacted me with a basic transcript: TIE GUY: WASSUP??? ... Chris: WASSSSUP? ... Nayyar [tongue hanging out]: WASSSSUUUUP??? ... Transcendental Josh: WUT. IS. UP. Is Wasssup.

I know I'm biased because they're my kids, but HOLY CRAP THEY'RE ADORABLE.

Odd timing to announce maybe, but I might try starting a web comic (fixed art comic style). Might. I've got one in the can and a live site ready to go. But I'm hesitating. I don't know what I'm doing, really. I do somewhat have a vision for expression some of the dialog-driving stuff I friendfeed on about in this simple comic form....
I'm mostly afraid it will just fizzled out and I won't stay committed to publishing them on a regular schedule (or at least half-way regular). It's easy to say "go for it", but I don't feel like failing at something I don't have to do in the first place. Now I'm over-thinking it. Bah.

Thanks, Tam. Here's another silly thing in my head: Jonathan Coulton before he had a singer-songwriter career made himself write a song a week for a year—that's hard core. I mean, I don't know if that has any relevance to my thoughts on this maybe project, but it's swirling in my noggin.
- Micah
That might be a cool idea. Give yourself a set amount of time to see if you keep it going and can commit. Like maybe something short term; a couple months. Either way, I think you are super funny so I can only imagine your comic strip would be awesome too.

Aw, thank you, Tammy. I don't know if it will make sense (I mean be funny / worth reading regularly) to more than like an audience of 15 people world-wide; OTOH, I would doing it for my own enjoyment primarily, I think.

Micah: a) I'm confident that it will be a great blend of your old-school Groucho Marx sensibilities and your tech-savvy i.e. it'll rock; and, b) this inspires me regarding my own writing. I say, go for it, brother :)

But he has sort of a celebrity aura around him. Especially Michelle. I do agree his title should be included though.

In professional journalism, I don't care if it's intentional, ignorance, or just plain lazy. It's wrong either way. That's stuff learned in high school civics class. As for the celebrity bit, they managed to use the title with Gov. Schwarzenegger and still manage to it now, usually with use of former governor.

Signing that NDAA bullshit disrespects the faith of the American people in a man who was supposed to be better. *drops mic*

"One of the more interesting memes to come out of 4chan are posts of rudimentary drawings of inventions or scenarios that, at first glance, seem to violate the laws of physics and allow for something supernatural to occur. One of the most common types of of these posts are ones related to “free energy” or perpetual motion. We’ve taken ten of these images and asked Steve Nelson, a Physics professor who holds a Ph. D. from Duke University in physics, to explain why these somewhat intuitive ideas fall flat in real life."
