Hello to @maryam5063 and everyone from Persia. Love to hear your news experiences using FriendFeed/Twitter, esp w/ recent Twitter problems.
I have almost completely given up on twitter ... friendfeed is fulfilling all the functions more or less...except for the direct message...hmmm... - Selma
@maryam5063 Did FriendFeed help you send messages while Twitter was having problems? We're having bad Twitter problems here (see very long argument http://friendfeed.com/e... where Twitter blamed heavy users - Twitterholic 100 http://twitterholic.com/ - like Robert Scoble). - Mitchell Tsai
Without gtalk twitter means nothing to me! Actually I prefer friendfeed. It's got more interesting features than twitter has. In short, friendfeed rocks. :) - Maryam Ardakani
@salma1 We've been wanting direct message (DM) on FriendFeed also. - Mitchell Tsai
salam.............سلام - پیمان ایری
@selma i think direct messaging doesn't belong in the aggregation world. i use jabber for that - Tyler Gillies
hmm... maybe - Selma
@salma1 How many followers do you people have in Iran? Does the public listen to you directly on FriendFeed, or does the public just visit your website (e.g. you just use FriendFeed for internal communications)? Is your website and underground news group? e.g. Does the government like you? - Mitchell Tsai
Well I got to learn about friendfeed with the help of a fellow blogger (mhmazidi ) and ‎since I've been active here both my Persian blog and my English blog are getting ‎more hits (not that they are hugely successful). the Persian blogosphere is closely ‎connected to FF and using it as a good opportunity to share info, links and weblogs … ‎but the readers of our weblogs (the Persian blogosphere as a whole) are either students ‎or mostly the educated classes, I'm not sure whether they are a reliable representative ‎of the whole Iranian community but we have a young population, and the readers are ‎a lot …so let's hope…‎ - Selma
‎ The gov doesn't particularly like this huge blogging movement, they have had ‎thousands of them blocked already … but still…they can't control every thing.‎ As for myself, I do write a bit about the risky stuff in the English weblog but I'm not ‎that brave to go on an all out war …a post here, a poem there… a paragraph here, a ‎link there …I write from inside Iran, I have to be careful. ‎ - Selma
Thanks Selma for sharing your experiences in Iran. Hope to meet your group sometime. :-) - Mitchell Tsai
my pleasure ...i'm glad i discovered the English speaking community today - Selma
بعدي Good night, Selma! I'm headed to lunch. Isn't it 2:43 am IRDT in Iran? (12.5 hrs ahead of PDT - I'm in San Francisco, CA). - Mitchell Tsai
it is...i'm off to bed too...goodnight - Selma
