So, mkdir -p /u01/app/oracle actually created a -p directory in /root - but rmdir cannot remove it. Way to go #Solaris.

@amyrrich No quotes - I forgot I wasn't in Linux land, and slapped it in after (mkdir <dir> -p).
@amyrrich Your rmdir command worked perfectly, thanks. Will have to remember that for the next time when I flub.
