for those on Iphone, Gcal and Outlook - you can also sync All calendars including RTM by using a free exchange server at nuevasync.com . I update stuff in any of them and all the other Calendars sync/update "automatically".pretty nifty.
- SnakeDoc
I'm a long time RTM user and love it.
- Jeremy Kunz
Is it easier to use than the organizer on a windows mobile device?

i love it too. haven't found a good Android app for it yet. the iphone app is great
- @baratunde

and there's a gmail labs plugin which doesn't depend on firefox extensions

i've been using it for a while and love it. i ponied up the $25 for the pro account and the $9.99 for Todo on my iPhone (no RTM app at the time) and have been really happy. Now that I've tried the RTM app, I kind of like Todo better. No regrets here about upgrading to the pro account or the $10 for Todo.
- Mark Foundos
How do you compare this with iwantsandy? I've been using iwantsandy and I'm pretty happy with it...
- Jorge Escobar
never tried iwantsandy but in skimming a few reviews they look very similar but iwantsandy seems totally email-based whereas RTM you can add tasks etc via email but also via the web/google gadget/iphone app.
- Mark Foundos
The more I use it the more I like its integration capabilities over that of iwantsandy.
- Melanie Reed
Can I sync RTM with Outlook? I didn't find anything on their website.
- Marcel Janus
For the PRO users: Does it worth to pay for premium account?
- Gian
This might be a bit irrelevant, but just in case. I got to know about this app through the Lifehacker blog and they have quite a bunch of blog posts about the app. You can get the site search for RTM in here http://www.google.ie/search... One of the best ones is this one...

This is one of the few on line apps that I was willing to pay for use. It has become essential to keeping me organized. The iPhone app is awsome.
- Dave Ploch
Best one app for online to do list and task management
- Icekahlua
@John-David: RTM has a WinMo client that syncs with your WinMo task list...this is a killer function for me. you need to go pro, but for $25/yr it's completely worth it to me.
- Trent Olson
It's a great tool, I've never been this productive before
- MattAlder
Couldn't recommend this more highly -- especially when used in conjunction with Gmail and their rtm gmail addon for firefox...
- Todd Lohenry
thanks for the tip...I'm going to try it out now
- Beth K
Instead of the firefox add-in, take advantage of the gadget. It uses less memory and, since it's actually part of the web page, is browser agnostic. That's good news for users of Chrome, Safari, IE, Opera, etc. Instructions on RtM at http://bit.ly/21RzqS.

Seriously considering switching from OmniFocus. After a week of heavy use, I can't believe I've lived without a web interface for so long.
- cecily
I've been using RTM for about 4 months now, along with the iPhone app ToDo for synching. It's fast, feature-rich, and integrates with GMail - a winning combination.
- Peter Ghosh
Just started using RTM now it's been integrated with GMail, it's been really useful.....
- Iain Baker
i've used for ~2 years. it's a great app.
- Kevin Gough
Its really good stuff, but their real world integration is horrid. No sync to outlook? Really? C'mon folks, is that a religeous thign with them? Dont get me wrong, I use them (pro member) but that is a glaring omission.

from twhirl
Been using it for months: perfect app. Simple but powerful.
- Jordi Soler
Been using it for a year now. Best to-do application I have ever seen, thumbs-up for RTM
- Peter Efland
Just downloaded this. Will try it out and see. I need a good to-do app so I'm jumping in with both feet.
- Amani
I need to remember to keep using this, to be honest. I have an account but I end up not using it as much. Perhaps someone can recommend a desktop client if one exists?
- Neurario
@Neural Psychosis: If you're on Mac, you may like TaskPaper. Very simple and basic. A text file on steroids (with contexts & archiving) if you will...

Sorry if I offended you, but there is 0 percent chance I will be President of the United States in the next four years, and I won't be counted on to unite the country.
- Dave Winer
You didn't offend me. I just don't understand why you trash people like you do? To be honest, i might just vote for you because you are insanely passionate.. but not tactful whatsoever.. But props for the passion
- Kyle Lacy
Palin and Biden's job is to trash people. Should be an interesting VP debate.

You can't vote for me, I'm not running for anything.

Getting all thin skinned at this point doesn't make any sense. In 3 days this woman has been attacked and lied about. her daughter has been attacked and smeared. And that's aside from the condescension of the Obama camp as a whole.

I'm just glad they didn't coop Heart's song "Barracuda" for her. Who knows though, they still may do that.

Keep up the attacks on the moose-spit - l a n d s l i d e is a real probability

Actually Dave, if telling the facts and the truth is offensive, perhaps you need to do your research to verify the facts. Or do you have something against a strong women?
- Thomas Capote
from twhirl
@soulhuntre do you eat your own dog food ... is ad hominem central to your attempt at equitable discourse? Mission Accomplished? America First? Do explain how your attack should be understood by this American?
- Scott Moskowitz
Dave Winer complaining that someone is too caustic??? Despite my atheism, there is only one possible response: And why behold you the mote that is in your brother's eye, but consider not the beam that is in your own eye? [Matthew 7:3]
- Sprague D
Soulhuntre, I'd like to see evidence from MSM to back up your claim of "condescension of the Obama camp as a whole".
- jcunwired
Jeff, here's a stat. Radio gets 230 million uniques a week. Compare that to, let's be kind, five million a week uniques listening to whatever via iPhone. Those broadcast towers still represent about twenty billion a year in revenues w/ operating margins to die for. No tag days, yet, for broadcast radio.
- Dave Martin
I wonder why people are so eager be first to call the death or superfluity of old media. Is there a prize for that?
- Michael Markman
@Michael. Calling things dead is so vogue. No matter that radio has been called dead since 1949. The truth of the matter is few things just drop dead, and in media, things actually change, new media is ADDED to the mix. It's all about AND not OR.
- Dave Martin
What are the "default" & best rooms on Friend Feed for social media & online community? I want to be a part but there aren't listings of rooms (or am I just missing them?)
@Robert, I don't quite understand this statement of yours.. I thought compression always runs in software except in special cases where you have dedicated hardware for it. (usually on a computer and not on a mobile device) Or do you mean compression doesn't happen on-the-fly on the phone itself and only happens on Qik's server?
- Chris Chua
Chris: Qik's engineers tell me that much of the compression of the video on the Nokia actually happens in hardware, while on the iPhone they are forced to do much of that same compression in software.
- Robert Scoble
so why not pump data from iPhone to QiK servers in RAW and then have QiK process it with better hardware?
- Rom Feria
New chipsets from mobile devices like TI's OMAP3 will greatly accelerate on the fly compression, 3D rendering, and other things. n95 uses previous generation OMAP 2, which is still excellent. These are the platforms to look for for the high end video, and soon, 3d performance.
- Dean Terry
Rom: do you have ANY clue how small a pipe 3G is? The best you usually get is about 400 kbps. That's not enough to send uncompressed video up.
- Robert Scoble
Just wondering - 3.6Mbps-7.2Mbps with 2MP camera... should be tolerable, right?
- Rom Feria
@Scoble sorry - just not used to slow 3G connections. :P
- Rom Feria
yes, the trend is to do as much of this on device as possible. And a lot is possible (we're testing here in the lab) - give it a year.
- Dean Terry
I think is the logic evolution of that
- Alex Barredo
Interesting timing on the article because of Mixx's newest feature of user defined communities. Searching is always important, but social search vs submixxes/subreddits is an interesting question. "Sub topics" give you a filter, which is not a search, but could give you a small enough subset of information to be useful.
- Rob Diana
I'm proud to say that all of my Facebook friends are also friends of Obama.
- jcunwired
@Jody - Why is that a source of pride for you?
- William Beem
Interesting how social networking benchmarks are takign the place of experience and policies.
- Soulhuntre
from twhirl
Most of my friends on FB are younger than I am, and I've known them most of their lives. Its good to see them care, great that they understand the status quo is not working, and wonderful to see them getting involved in the political process.
- jcunwired
I'm not sure that selecting a candidate on FB is the same as getting involved in the political process, but I understand your point.
- William Beem
Soulhuntre: You're absolutely right - I was so going to vote for Obama based solely on his number of Facebook followers until you showed me the error of my ways. Thank you so much!
- David Worrell
"As soon as he puts the camera down, he's a dead man. This is the last straw. Dressing me up as Tinkerbelle the other day was bad enough, but this... this is beyond the pale. Oh Lord, he's probably going to put it up on the interweb, too!!!"

What happens if Apple doesn't ship a superdooper new iPhone on Monday?
- Robert Scoble
Then the door is open for someone to ride in over the top of them with there own offering. I cannot see Apple not releasing the "superdooper iPhone".
- Michael McGimpsey
It's quite possible, though, that they are working on several models and the one my source is working on won't be out until later this year.
- Robert Scoble
"If you find yourself sitting in front of your business plan and the only question that you’re asking yourself is how you will manage to raise $3 Million in venture funding, you might just be looking at things backwards. One key trap that entrepreneurs fall into is that they think that money is the solution to all of their problems, when in reality too much, too early can be the cause a quite a few more."
