Okay, I am on godaddy. What would you recommend for domain registration and/or hosting?
do not host with them, unless its a static or generic page... they are great for domains, but hosting is another story. Also, as a general rule of thumb, you dont want hosting and domains with the same firm. - Ron Amundson

A%20novel%20electroporation%20method%20using%20a%20capillary%20and%20wire-type%20electrode.pdf - http://heybryan.org/books...
Electroporation is widely used to achieve gene transfection. A common problem in electroporation is that it has a lower viability than any other transfection method. In this study, we developed a novel electroporation device using a capillary tip and a pipette that was effective on a wide range of mammalian cells, including cell lines, primary cells, and stem cells. The capillary electroporation system considerably reduced cell death during electroporation because of its wire-type electrode, which has a small surface area. The experimental results also indicated that the cell viability was dependent on the change in pH induced by electrolysis during electroporation. Additionally, the use of a long and narrow capillary tube combined with simple pipetting shortened the overall time of the electroporation process by up to 15 min, even under different conditions with 24 samples. These results were supported by comparison with a conventional electroporation system. The transfection rate... - Ron Amundson

17 databases? damn how many function you got going on your blog :~) - Ron"micronet"Harwood
I do it with 12, although it gets a little slow if all are running. If you switch back and forth between desktop and online via swapping databases back and forth, you need to reset 2 settings in wp_options... if you want I can link to instructions. - Ron Amundson

Friendfeed is the Next Great Blogging Platform, Here's Why... - http://www.micropersuasion.com/2009...
not fully convinced, the potential is there for sure, but the ease of adoption by the masses may limit it... and I'd hate to see it shrunk for ease of use, although that may be what needs to happen. As it is now, one can do a ton, or very little with it, and new apps can be thought of daily; thats cool, and what imho sets it apart. If they loose the expansiveness and customization, utlity for many would go away too. - Ron Amundson

here's a catch-22. if economic stimulus passes, there's a 65% federal subsidy for cobra premiums. do I roll the dice?
Whats the downside for the cobra subsidy, other than greater usage... which might create more internal overhead for companies already in a world of hurt, albeit I though the cobra pricing figured that in. For employees its a great thing, but alas for many even with the subsidy they may not be able to swing it. - Ron Amundson

Are RSS Subscribers Worthwhile if they Don’t Visit Your Blog? (http://ping.fm/z96fn)
cool post! I think it comes down to the vision folks have for their blog, if its all direct sales, and their is no vision for self branding, expert building, or even reporter authority, its probably not to useful. Otoh, even a direct seller shoots themselves in the foot if they don't at least consider the intangibles for the future. - Ron Amundson

Every day. That's 85% of what I do in Google Reader and FriendFeed by sharing and "Liking" other people's posts. That passes them to my friends and helps them out. - Robert Scoble
I do a lot of that all the time, especially finding small, new blogs and promoting them, mixing their links with the links to Big Ones, hoping this will make them see each other, so the other Big Ones start promoting those newbies. - Bora Zivkovic
I do my best. - Helen Sventitsky
Very often. Many of the posts I make here are promoting others sites and stories. Some of the blogs I follow are very niche or have small followings so hopefully they get additional traffic from their exposure here. - Jeff P. Henderson
@RobertScoble Curious, do you have time to read comments on blogs, or just the posts? Thanks. - Ed Shahzade /NextInstinct
Ed: I often read the comments too and participate in them a lot, although FriendFeed is changing my behavior there. - Robert Scoble
Robert- Do you mean FF has enabled more time for more in-depth intake? I'm trying to understand how folks like you and Brogan, and... absorb the volume of info you do. Can't say more out loud. And thank You for replying -Ed - Ed Shahzade /NextInstinct
Ed, I read a lot in Google Reader, which makes it hard to see comments unless I get interested enough to see what's going on and click over. FriendFeed makes it a LOT easier to post comments on posts, like what I'm doing here. - Robert Scoble
Chris Brogan asks an excellent question here. For me, blogging is about sharing great information. I always link to anything I think my readers will enjoy. I also blog about the blog I read - and recommend people like Robert Scoble, so my readers can discover new places to find great content. - Jim Connolly
I try to only link out to personal blogs when possible, end many posts with "What others are saying" like to give readers more backstory than my own - sean percival
Not so much promote, but if someone is looking for an intern, assistant, or advice of some nature and I know a friend or acquaintance (weak ties), then I will put them in touch with each other. - Phillip Jeffrey
I try to do it often, mentioning people in my posts and retweeting, linking, etc. I also maintain my blogrolls. I try to promote who I see as the "up and coming" more than the current bigwigs. I am more likely to mention Mona or Rahsheen than Scoble, for example. - Neal Jansons
Brogan is very smart about asking, sincerely, the question "What do You think?" constantly. Beyond giving folks an open voice, with the notion they're really being heard, it encourages a mindset where linking out no longer feels like reader leakage. - Ed Shahzade /NextInstinct
Aww shucks, thanks Neal :) -- I actually enjoy promoting those that deserve it. I also think promoting blogs/individuals that are not necessarily on the radar helps keep things interesting and keep us from getting trapped in a box. I'm going to avoid the buzzword here, you all know what I'm alluding to. :) - Rahsheen ™, Coach Rah

Where would the best place for me to go to find a website out sourced. I am working on a project (non SEO related) and I need a website put together. I just need the framework, since I will add the videos and content. This website will need a password to enter and a forum. Any ideas?
This site will have less pages than the 30DC, but it will be a course type website...so very similar. I am willing to spend money...Open to suggestions. Thank you! - Michael Roberts
Here are several suggestions. 1. You could try elance.com or guru.com. 2. Or find a website you like and at the bottom of the page there probably will be a web designer/webmaster contact info. 3. Or search for web designer's forums. That's where they hang out. You can post you job there. For example, http://www.ozzu.com/job-opp... or http://jobs.smashingmagazine.com/ - Rita
I can help www.webtech.co.za - Guy McLaren
you could also check out tsemedia.com. It's a complete package website template/hosting deal with lots of flexibilty. See what you think. And it's very cheap too. I run one of my sites there. - Gregory Brassil
You all are very very helpful! I appreciate your help, and will check all this out. Thanks for the quick replies. - Michael Roberts
check out moodle, it likely has everything you need and more... its specifically for courses, has passwords, forums, wiki, video, the whole works, fairly easy to use, once you get past the learning curve. - Ron Amundson
If you want a site that you can put your videos on. I have just the thing for you, have you thought of having one like MySpace and all that traffic that has. I have just set one up, I'm not that good at it but I did it. To start with it's not got a chat room yet, but it's there if I expand server. It needs people to start it up by joining and adding their Videos, comments, ideas and so on. http://my-webmasters-den-space.com It's for budding webmaster like yourself I also have resell rights to this. cooldjp - David Pearce

The 9 Most Badass Bible Verses | Cracked.com - http://www.cracked.com/article...
A most interesting perspective, but its not for the young in Christ, nor those who hold to a very puritanical lifestyle. However, the verses chosen are not adulterated. The commentary, while crude at times is tremendously funny, and once one sees the truth in it, very power. Some cool quotes: You can raise all the intellectual challenges you want about faith and the origins of the universe, but at the end of the day, you have to worship the god who can set you on fire. Specifically, they sent 3,000 men. So, at that point, Samson either had the reputation as a world-class badass, or the Philistine army was the equivalent of those shitty battle droids from the Star Wars prequels that could only kill an enemy soldier by crushing him under a pile of their own corpses. Christians are constantly asking for prayer in schools to help get today's kids in line, but we beg to differ. We need bears in schools. If every teacher had the power to summon a pair of child-maiming grizzly avengers, you... - Ron Amundson
