While I'm exited about every linux phone, where is the hardware? and the open development kit? They will have a hard time to compete with the android phones.
- Peter Hoffmann
LiMo... meh. Android will take another year or so to kick off, imho. And nobody knows anything about Nova yet. They apparently overhauled the OS

I'm getting frustrated with my BlackBerry Curve. I may go back to Palm. (I've owned 2 Treos.) We'll see. My wife has the G1 and I agree with Mona. I'll look into Android again next year. (And, no, I'm not ever getting an iPhone.)
- Oliver Ortega Chua
I'm looking forward to learning more about it. I'd like palm to start doing well again. Remember when everyone had Treo 600s?

Yes. I had the 300, 600. 650, and even the clamshell Samsung (terrible phone). I had the 700p for a while but switched to a MotoQ (mistake) then went back to a regular phone. I am and have always been a HUGE fan of Palm - I even bought the Tungsten -sigh- CES is exciting this year!

I've had two (Handspring) Visors, too. I miss old school monochrome.
- Oliver Ortega Chua
I LOVE my G1. I'll be happy till my contract runs out, I think.
- Her Lindsay-ness
I'm curious to see what it actually is. I probably won't switch unless it just somehow blows everything else out of the water which I seriously doubt will happen given their track record the last few years.
- ronin
Mattie - It's ok, if they come out with something phenomenal, great. If not, not a big loss. @Lindsay - I love that you love Android. :) I'm probably going to put it on the Vaio P @saeba: "Cautiously optimistic." ala @christianderson :)
- Mona Nomura
Did you know "Nova" in spanish means "Doesn´tWork" ?
- paniaguai
I think most people are tired of Palm. They've been failing at getting to the head of the pack for so long...
- Amit Morson
Why would I want to run Android on the Palm? I've heard they made changes to their OS, they've been quiet for a long time, so I am (cautiously optimistic) about their press release later today. And I don't care if most people are tired of Palm, I am and will still be a fan - they were the first SmartPhoes that captured my heart - personal problem, perhaps (for me)? ;)

If it looks like it has the potential to turn Palm around, yes, but it will also depend on the carrier and the cost.
- Steve Lowe
Andy - don't be such a hater. Palm OS and Handspring were the first in the US to make a decent and usable SmartPhone and I'm looking forward to their announcement. Have you even looked at the prototype for the new phone?

Mona - haha just teasing, i thought they were gone for good! Do you think they can bust back into the market? Seems they've missed the innovation boat and lost the market over the last few years.
- andy brudtkuhl
They have been stagnant for the past few years but were recently funded. I'm not expecting anything to blow me away but I would be lying if I said I wasn't extremely curious to see what they have up their sleeve. :)

Hmm, is that 3 Linux-based OS revamps and rewrites they've attempted (not forgetting the non-Linux-based Palm OS Cobalt, which was stillborn), before throwing away the rotten carcass, or selling it off to another company? Let me see, their plan to adopt Access Linux Platform (which was going to be based on sold-off Palm technology, somewhat ironically), another internal attempt to build a Linux-based OS, and now Nova...

Tyson - it took Edison and Lattimer over 10,000 tries to invent the lightbulb. :)
