I judge people in tech who have yahoo or hotmail emails by choice (non-employees.) Don't mean to, but I do. #help?
Oddly, I know several folks who love Yahoo email and can't stand Gmail because they're compulsive about folders. - Brian Chang
I once worked at a place that shall remain nameless where some interviewers immediately looked with disfavor on applicants who didn't have an email address from that company's mail service as their resume contact email. - Kevin Fox
But it would be wrong of us to judge people who prefer myspace to facebook... ? - Andrew C (✓)
Mona, what about a myspace email address? - Jimminy, CoG of FF
I judge anyone who claims to be a tech person who has an aol.com email address. They're still out there. - amygeek
What are you talking about, Andrew? Jimminy, why would anyone in tech use a MySpace email address as their primary address?? #nicetry :) Kevin, that does not surprise me one bit. ;) - Mona Nomura
How can I help you with this, Mona? Thou shalt not judge! - Eivind
I just judge people. - Jemm
Mona, my point was that looking down on yahoo mail users seems to me a lot like FB-primary users looking down on Myspace-primary users. - Andrew C (✓)
Uh ok. Because email services are EXACTLY like social platforms :) #nicetry! - Mona Nomura
... I don't get your objection. if anything, preferring FB over MySp or the other way around says a lot more about someone than which email service they prefer. - Andrew C (✓)
LOL you sound eerily similar to the 12 year olds I deal with on the Facebook MySpace fan page! - Mona Nomura
Oh and btw, judging != looking down and I don't know anyone --in tech-- who prefers MySpace over Facebook. Let me reiterate the 'in tech'. One more time in case you missed it: IN TECH. Thank you. - Mona Nomura
I hate wind. - Eivind
"you sound eerily similar to the 12 year olds I deal with on the Facebook MySpace fan page! " How so? I ask in all seriousness. I mean, it's not even like I've been slagging Myspace. And give me a break with this "judging != looking down". What do you call http://mona.posterous.com/what-yo... ? - Andrew C (✓)
As well, I don't get why one would look down on techies choosing to use Yahoo mail. Any web email service, it's where you go to read your email, for your eyes. A social network site, it's where you go to present a face to the world. And functionally, what is the difference between yahoo mail and hotmail and gmail? 7 gb vs 1 gb of storage? Pervasive tags vs folders? - Andrew C (✓)
