oh updates. i had that happen to xp service pack 2. i stressed and stressed about the inevitable auto update - it was my video card. don't ask me why but the graphics card's fan had died and would crash the system whenever something graphics heavy happened on my system. how an update is graphics intensive i will never know, but it was amusing :P - Terry O'Fee

I always recommend people use Apple's Combo Updates for Mac OS X upgrades. If you own a jailbroken or unlocked iPhone I would not recommend upgrading http://tr.im/2dc1 - Vinko

The iPhone issue only occurs if the iPhone is in DFU mode. Some users report issues with Logitech keyboards and mice too. According to some it's a kernel issue. - Dennis Bjørn Petersen from twhirl
