Still trying to get hulu to work on my ubuntu install. If I can't, I'm switching back to windows. I should have just installed windows in the first place, since boxee now works for it.
I heard Boxee is coming to Linux sometime this year, of next year.

Boxee has always worked for linux as far as I can tell, with the windows version being the last out of the gate.

So...I'm trying to set up gtalk with friendfeed. Did I miss a step? it sent an invite to me and I accepted, but I don't see where to message friendfeed on my gtalk app on my G1. Is this even possible?

Do you use gMail or Google Apps for Domains? If the latter, you need to add some SRV records to get the FF IM bot to add you. Let me know if you need the records, I have a handy screenshot with all the settings you need.

So, my big accomplishment today was getting this gchat thing figured out. I do believe I'm okay with this.
I love it - it's great for keeping an eye on selected Lists/Feeds. Never got the hang of posting from it, though.

Also, under you Email/IM settings up the top of FriendFeed you can set what you get sent to you as an update. I use this to follow certain people, get notifications when someone posts a comment on my stuff etc

So, now I need to start getting a game plan together to prepare for moving to LA. First and foremost I need to make sure my finances are in order and that I can get a job when I get out there. I've heard that work is scarce out there. That true?

Depends on what you want to do and are willing to tackle. I found it hard to find a job that both interested me and paid what I wanted. But I was only interested in working in non-profits and tightened up my search the 2nd go-round so yeah, made it a little difficult for myself. :-/

Depends on the work, obviously. A lot of shows are in production and there's indie stuff (I'm assuming you want to do the film/tv/entertainment thing, right?). There's also slumming PA work, which can be under the table, but can be consistent if you prove your mettle and get in with some people who are good natured and appreciate the work. why thank you, Josh. I've been throwing around the idea of doing an art project in the future where I draw various friendfeeders and illustrate them in a similar manner. Might be a little bit yet before that happens though..
