either Air Supply or Simple Minds, 1985; the brain cannot do timelines well atm.

Oh, by choice? I saw LL Cool J, Salt N Pepa, The Beastie Boys, Run-DMC, and Whodini back when My Adidas came out. So, '86? With my cousin and aunt and uncle.
- Derrick
Goldfinger. First concert, first mosh pit participation and first deafening retardation by standing near speaker stack. Incidentally, none of those is what made the night so memorable. ;)

Megadeth with Suicidal Tendencies as the opener. Nov. 5, 1993? Patriot Center in Fairfax, VA

Jealous of Bren. I would have loved to see Midnight Oil, especially in their heyday.

Hey, I was ten and crazy about him. It was 1971. My parents let me take several of my friends. It's the only birthday from that long ago that I remember. DON'T JUDGE ME!!!

No judging here, Laurabrarian. Just a big ol' smile. I had a similar crush on Susan Dey at that same time and age.
- Friar Will (:^)
Ratt, with Bon Jovi opening (Tokyo Road era). Bon Jovi was great, Ratt was waaay too loud.
- Adam
Kansas! I was 14 or 15 and my dad even got us backstage!
- Rachel Lea Fox
TLC, Blaque, and LFO, I think, not really sure; I just went because one of my friends didn't want to go alone, sometime around 2000-2001.

The Bangles at Great America. I think I was in 6th grade

"By choice" is a tough call. I'd go willingly with friends, but to what they wanted (Bush, Jimmy Buffet). I wanted to see a bunch but couldn't. The first thing I can remember going to that was my idea was The Skatalites, with Hepcat, the Gadjits, and somebody else. I also went to Ozomatli a LOT, back when they were good.

The ONLY real concert I have ever been to (unknown bar bands don't count): Jethro Tull
- April
@Will, yeah Susan Dey and David Cassidy kinda had a weird chemistry going ... not very brother/sister and it showed! Apparently there was a similar problem with the two oldest kids on the Brady Bunch.

Lollapalooza 1993: Primus, Alice in Chains, Dinosaur Jr., Fishbone, Arrested Development, Front 242, Tool, Rage Against the Machine... still one of the best I've ever been to.
- Nathan Chase
It was either Powderfinger or Gomez at Festival Hall

Meaning, not on a date? Went to a bunch in 1973 - don't remember which was first. Probably either Elton John or Harry Chapin. Dylan and the Dead were in there somewhere too, but I think later that year.
