Gave up fixing GTK compatibility for the a Eclipse plugin under 64-bit Karmic. Set up a VirtualBox for it, got enough RAM anyway.
@pirxthepilot my audio was also broken for a while, but got fixed when I switched to 64-bit. maybe it was another fix. using AMD SB700.

@rbitanga a proprietary Eclipse plugin I am trying out, only available in binary form.
64-bit Linux + proprietary binary-only apps = problems...

@infil00p looks like the source for the WebView stuff we need is still deep in the closed-source tree until they decide to surprise us.
Installed Karmic on Dell Latitude D510. WiFi worked out of the box but not the Broadcom LAN. Not long ago, this was impossible.

@sealdi yes the HTC Magic costs around that much, and the Hero isn't available locally (officially).
JIL trouble. Bundled Eclipse not working on Linux 64-bit, but I can't find plugin for separate install. Emulator doesn't work on Windows.

Spotted an HTC Hero in High Street - many owners already?
Downgraded Eclipse Galileo from Cocoa to Carbon. Seems to solve the Android Development Tools 100% CPU problem.
