@damon I LOL'd.
@tmm1 @joedamato Ok, calling stats before stop now and it works on SL/REE!
@jakedouglas no idea. I think I just did ./installer like normal.
@joedamato Looks like it doesn't work on SL+REE. I get no output when I just do a basic start/dostuff/stop/stats but no crash either.
@joedamato Running my test suite with memprof: 42sec/900MB VM size at exit. Without: 5sec/80MB. Snow Leopard with REE-2009.10.
@joedamato I would but this test suite is for our MQ daemon. It's non-trivial and not easily portable.
@joedamato Congrats! Any idea on memprof RAM/CPU overhead? Is it usable in production systems?
@GregorianPants That looks like one precarious cat. Make sure you have the camcorder rolling and ready to upload to Youtube.
@jtimberman Fax machines = printers + a 20 key "intuitive touch key interface".
Dear Google Chrome: no status bar? How do I see the URL of a link before I click on it?
Read Macbeth for the first time. Amazing. That Shakespeare guy's got talent!

@mirven BDB does some of that but is a bit old and creaky. Also, Tokyo Cabinet.
@deaconbradley Use bundler. We just rolled it out for use with a Ruby daemon and it works great.
RT @LoriCHawkins Austin-based @Gowalla has raised $8.4 million in venture capital. http://www.statesman.com/blogs... [nice job!]
@bdainton I'm not going to get my dream job as a Daily Show correspondent with that kind of PR.
@mirven Gem bundler supports git repos for gems.
@hayesdavis DB backups? YAGNI.
@hayesdavis If log files are the issue, /etc/logrotate.d is your friend.
@hayesdavis I just save an MS Word document locally for each document in my document-oriented database.
@mrtho1 I've heard there are languages that don't hassle you with all that type crap.
@mandoescamilla Same here, cap deploy does "gem bundle --cached" for every deploy. Makes the deploys huge though.
Quickly becoming a fan of @wycats's gem bundler, just wish there was consensus wrt capistrano and deployment. http://rubyglasses.blogspot.com/2009...
@wycats e.g. support the :version and :lib options as alternatives to the current DSL.
@wycats It would be nice if the Gemfile DSL was closer to Rails' existing environment.rb so we could just copy existing config to Gemfile.
The #chef support in IRC is awesome. Was besieged by chef geeks wanting to solve my problem.
@damon I find it impossible to remember how to spell bedouins. How about #cafebums? :-)
is making room on his mantle for a 2010 Texas Social Media Award. Surely this will be the year I outfox @jdeeringdavis.
