so people don't decide what to read based on title, topic, keywords, abstract... just the journal name? (i get journal name first then browse then use above to decide what to read.... but not go from jnl name to read, surely, or phys rev D would kill you! -- but that's a minor point

@Peter -- yay! @Christina -- yep, in biomed sci, everyone I know (unless they're also here on FF) triages a ref list by journal name -- if they know/like the journal they might read the article, otherwise they assume it's crap. Ridiculous.

Bill: I don't doubt what you're saying--and that may be a bigger obstacle to OA than even PRISM and the disinformation efforts of the big publishers.

My $0.02. One of the many interesting parts covered in this xlnt webinar is that "PLoS ONE is actually scheduled/expected to publish as many as 4,700 articles this year alone which should make it potentially the largest Journal in the world by (the) number of research articles."
