Ahh, who knew I was so close to a news story that would happen 1.5 years later? I didn't see any hanky panky going on. I like both Elizabeth and John. - Robert Scoble
Get any video or pics? - John McCrea
John: we're looking. Podtech took them all down, from what I can see. I didn't have any video of her, unfortunately, that I remember. Rocky's looking through our archive, although PodTech owns the copyright on anything we do have. Oh, well... - Robert Scoble

You ever notice when someone has an affair... they always post the ugliest picture possible at first? - Dean Clark
Annie: if I were to sell them, maybe tens of thousands of dollars. I doubt they'd bring more than $100,000 cause they aren't technically that good so they wouldn't be able to get on a cover of a magazine. - Robert Scoble

@Robert I really need to keep my good camera with me at all times... - Andrew Feinberg
You're the man! That's pretty EFFing cool that you got to travel with him. I guess it's good Edwards didn't win the primary. We'd really be EEF'ed then. Despite this scandal, I still like the guy and people should just back off. I hate these types of scandalous stories around personal and private matters. yeah, yeah, he's a public figure, but it's still a personal and private matter!! - Miiko Mentz
She doesn't look as attractive as I thought she would. I mean, if you were John Edwards, you think you'd be able to do better than Spitzer. Just saying. - Granteezy

Robert, isn't it amazing the circles you've ended up travelling in the past few years! It is inspiring to me. - John McCrea
John: it is absolutely amazing. It just gets more and more surreal. - Robert Scoble
Scoble, saying "who knew I was so close to a news story 1.5 years later"would be no different that if you had climbed Mt. St. Helen's in Nov of 1979 only to hear of its eruption in May of 1980. You being on that plane has NOTHING to do with this story. Nice try, though. - Dave Madison
Dave: interesting point of view. But in this case the affair was still going on. At least I didn't die to get these pictures like I would have if I had been at the eruption of Mt. St. Helens. - Robert Scoble
Robert you r being silly. You wouldn't have risked dying because you wouldn't have been there. And u weren't there for this bimbo eruption. - Dave Madison
You just happened to get a picture of Reile 1.5 years before anyone knew what was going on. If I got a picture of Lewinsky walking down Penn. Ave in 1995, does that mean "I was there?". Hey! I got a random ok picture of Spritzer on a shuttle to DC. Guess that makes me a part of history, too! - Dave Madison
Dave: the thing is I WAS there. Just because I didn't know what was going on at the time, doesn't mean I didn't capture the two of them together. But, whatever, I really don't care either way. If you had a picture of Lewinsky and Clinton together on Penn Ave. you would have had an interesting picture too. Your argument doesn't hold, though, because if I had a picture of St. Helens at the time it exploded I would have had a historical picture, even if I didn't understand what I had taken a picture of. - Robert Scoble

I think you will get this. Ana hinted at "good friends" in one of her updates. And third party apps like FriendFeedMachine offer this today. - Louis Gray
It'll absolutely come - we just have to be patient. They can only last so long on hot pockets, coffee, or whatever else they eat while they code... - Ben Parr
let me save you the trouble, its kind of like being ignored half the time - Chris Conway
I'd love to see this implemented so that you can "group" your friends. - Jeff Smigel
Try ignoring this account for a week and just log onto the private one -- enjoy the peace. :) - Robert Couture
Agree with Jeff... I'd like a tab with tech friends and non-tech friends, meat-space friends, work friends, amusing friends, etc. So I could have different "flavors" of FriendFeed depending on my mood. - Lindsay Donaghe
cool idea! - Susan Beebe
I just signed in. What was amazing was there was someone following me before I even completed the process. I guess she must have added me off of my other email address. Weird. - Robert Scoble
Could creating a room to put your 'real' friends be an option? - Michael
I agree with Jeff. Moreover to be able to define groups/tabs like "close friends," "colleauges," etc., and give each group a priority in terms of displaying contents and have FF somehow displaying according to priority of those groups/tabs. - Hayk
I'm using FriendFeed Filters: Friends & Groups (http://ffapps.com/filters/) exactly for the "close friends" purpose and it's all right. In my case, one wish saved :) - Dani Radu
or nudge tweetdeck to support FF so you could group your collegues into a different stream! - Nancy Babyak via twhirl
I'd LOVE to be able to favorite FF users I read most so I could see their stuff at the top of my pile. :) - Leslie Poston
I'd like "favorite users" in different tabs. And the different groups. Also like to have a clipboard tab, where "clipped" users/articles stay (and I can follow them) and are removed from the "friends" tab (temporarily). - Mitchell Tsai
i also think that there is enough space for additional (custom) tabs here - Dieter Schwarz
I would definitely like to see this feature added! I like Lindsay's suggestion to have several tabs with groups of friends. - Jeff P. Henderson
I've been wanting friend groups for a while, just so I can filter things quicker. - xero
Great idea, group friends and/or related tabs. An idea I've had for a while was "Friend Weight" where as a friend is slower to leave the front page or be buried down. Who knows what's up FriendFeed's sleeves? - Colby Olson
Friendfeed should simply let you privately rate all relationships on a 1 to 10 scale. You could then filter FF by these numerical ratings. It would also be useful information for them to use when they come out with their "best of the day, week, month, etc." algorithm based on social metadata and personal relevancy. - Thomas Hawk
do you find that your friends list on twitter is different from friendfeed? at least for me, friendfeed has some of my closer friends and/or people who's content I follow everyday, whereas twitter has just about anyone. - Chris Salazar
If I tried that, I'd never see FriendFeed update as only two of my close friends use it and neither of them use it that much except to mainly comment. - Akiva Moskovitz
"to see what life is like when you only have a few friends.” -- welcome to my world...most of my close friends just aren't into this stuff like I am. - Stephen Shelton
I've been dreaming of the same thing. I don't want to get rid of the "friend of" concept all together; I find lots of good stuff that way. But there are times i wish i could switch over to a subset of people quickly. Maybe two new tabs? "just friends" and "close friends" ? - Jeff Douglass
It would be great if : 1 - one could limite the update to connected people (and not receiving updates of friend of a friend - eventhough this info could be accessible somewhere), or may be I missed something here, 2 - create lists of friends (like family, work, techy which would be displayed as tabs) - Olivier
this sounds like a job for @directeur and noiseriver ;) - Ruben Llibre
Think we need Super-Likeys too - Charlie Anzman
there could be an acquaintances tab? no? I would follow more people if I could filter it a little more, regardless of the system applied. Sometimes I want to see what some folks are saying/doing and sometimes I want to get a little adventurous. While we are at it, for finding new people to follow you could have FOAFOAF... maybe not. - Scott Lockhart
you could have just borrowed mine Robert! - Morgan
ESME solves that problem - Dennis Howlett via twhirl
Friendfeed should pull a Twitter and aquire some of the better apps. - Roberto Bonini
NO! I don't want FF pulling a Twitter. FF is fail whale free, let's keep it that way :) - Jeff Douglass
Agree I would follow more people with this tab but I try and keep to feeds that particularly interest me (ie photography-related in my case) - Kol Tregaskes via twhirl
I like this idea a lot. tell us how it goes. - Mel "Friend of Marco" McB
I would like this as well. :) They can call it the BFF tab! :) - Daynah
I would love the idea of grouping friends. - Bob Blunk

It's a good idea... make it reputation based, or use some other criteria. - Bill Sodeman
it's kinda like my life... </melodrama> - Stephen Shores via twhirl
id like a tab ,, "needsagirlfriend" - johnpiercy
The friend / close friend dynamic is one that no social networking/media site I've seen has quite ever gotten exactly right. If anyone can do it, I would bet on FF ! - Eric Berlin
FriendFeed needs an additional tab (as does Twitter, Identi.ca, and others) allowing you to show posts from only "favorited" friends. I am currently doing this with RSS, but IMO that's a hack. - Jesse Stay
Heh - just realized I was commenting the exact same thing you were saying in the post - need to read better. ;) Consider it a me too++ - Jesse Stay
I do not like the idea of "close friends" as defined by any application. A generic grouping mechanism is more helpful because you can create your "close friends" group, and you can create a "techies" group or whatever else you desire. I am actually surprised that FF does not have it already given that rooms have been around for a while. - Rob Diana
@Robert, why does it not surprise me that you went back to your real account? Good to see that you are experimenting though. - Rob Diana
I would rather have Close Friends that the current Subscriptions listing on the sidebar of my personal page - Mark Dykeman
Robert: Wow, that was fast! I was wondering how long you'd stay away from the firehouse of cool noise! :-) - Susan Beebe
I was kind of sad to see Robert split off with a second account, and uncomfortable with the possibility of others following. I'm having a great time learning from and interacting with everyone, and honored to be able to do so. Welcome back, and thanks! - JodyUnwired
at first I thought you were saying 'close' as in 'close the door' to your friends...but that wouldn't make much sense! :) - Stephen Shores via twhirl

“New viral experiment: What about making a post for sharing on Google Reader with a Note, adding a Note saying you shared it, and asking the next sharer of the item to add their name. Do you think enough people subscribe to shared link blogs that we could see a tree of influence? I'm tempted to try...”
August 1 at 6:08 pm - Link
Think of this as a chain letter of sorts. If I share the item with a note, and then Corvida does, saying she got it from me, the next person would say they got it from Corvida who got it from me, and so on. That'd be interesting to watch. - Louis Gray
: ) too geek for a gtalk status message. - Erhan Erdogan
wouldn't it be like doing a roll call on FF? as each person made an addition it would branch across new streets? - Nancy Babyak via twhirl
I can never tell if the notes you share end up being passed as well. I LOVE google's shared items feature, but there is something wrong about it. User interface is bad - feels like some things happen behind your back. You can't tell who re-shares (necc.) etc. - David Cohn
I only see google shared items here on FF, so I'm not sure how that would fit into this viral thing - Rah™
this is the same as fwd emails , striping the top off and adding your name to the list as part of the contents of the email. The root question is why are you wanting to track who is resharing an item ? - Peter Dawson

my fav rice is the Jasmine Dragonfly brand rice, but that's not as common in the states. 2nd choice would be regular Jasmine Butterfly brand. http://www.tiaopeng.com/jaribu... . this is more southeast asian than japanese style though. For sticky rice, i like Nishiki brand - Alan Le
Aw, man, I've been passing over Kokuho Rose for the jasmine rice (some Koreans told me weeks ago that this was why my sushi fell apart, and no, I did NOT try to make sushi for anyone but me). Glad you asked, because I forgot what they told me to buy. - MiniMage LightBlueRanger via NoiseRiver
ok while on the subject.. what is traditional served with this type of sticky rice ? - Peter Dawson
If you go to your local sushi resturant, they should sell you cooked rice. I love making seaweed-less sushi. You get a plastic, disposable shot glass, put your filling down the bottom and pack the top with rice. When you turn it out onto a platter you have bite sized (shot sized) sushi with no seaweed... - John Worthington
I like Nishiki brand for normal sticky rice. - Rodfather

The trick is to use a short grain rice (sometimes called "japanese rice"). The mix in cooking it is the key to getting it nice and sticky - Duncan Riley
For the longest time when I was growing up, I had no idea what brand we bought. All I did was look for the big rose on the bag. (Botan) lol. Peter: Every culture might be a little different. But if you're filipino, it's just about everything and anything. - Louie

Louie... isn't it if you want sticky rice you don't wash the starch off? - John Worthington

There's a dropdown menu for particular states :) - Mona N.
That's silly. If you zoom out on the map, it shows the west on the California map, but nothing else on the east coast. If you select New York, it shows Ohio Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New England. Why? What's the point of a google maps mashup if you can't use the map to see all the data? Or why have information for other states on state specific maps? - Mark Trapp
