The turtle in this pic, (my wife named him sam) is upset that he would be associated with Karmic Koala. He has since disappeared. Ubuntu 9.10 is SLOOOOOOOW. - this new Dell PC running Dual Core Intel 2.5ghz and 3 gig ram is running like a 1.3 ghz celeron with 512m ram, with one application, FireFox 3.5 open. System Monitor is showing the 2 CPU's taking turns hitting 100% utilization. Fortunately this is Dual boot and I can hang out in Vista and wait for patches. I signed up with Launchpad and have already sent in a bug report. - Mike Nencetti

I switched over to vista. the processors are now at 3% wish I had more time to experiment. It almost appears to be a video issue. EDIT It's not FireFox, Moving the mouse causes the processors to hit 100% utilization. EDIT 2 - I have no audio after the upgrade - time will tell what will become of my Komatose Koala Ubuntu - Mike Nencetti

Update, I downgraded to Jaunty Jackalope 9.04 and all is well. (Blew away the partition and reloaded from DVD) I left a 2nd partition open in case I want to run 9.10 side by side with 9.04 at a later date. - Mike Nencetti
