An old-timer! And do you trust this site to access your FriendFeed account? What does this site want to do with access to your account, besides tell you something you should already know?
- Keith Rowland
Just something about a 19 Year old college student :-)
- Keith Rowland
Leo, just how do you find out when you signed up?
- Gene Williams
it's all wrong Leo..it said I joined 8 days ago. I signed up long ago after reading your tweet when you first got in. It was really confusing and i didn't start activity till a few weeks ago. The app is bogus.
- Gene Williams
a gmail search quickly told me when I actually signed up. Both dates are interesting, and the difference tells you a FF "gestation period," or about how long it took you to figure out FriendFeed.
- Aaron Crews
I joined FriendFeed on March 3rd, 2008, but apparently my first post was not until June 29th, 2008. It's important to note that this app gives you the date of your "first manual FriendFeed post." I doubt many people post manually on FriendFeed until they build up a FF community that can answer questions, provide commentary, etc.
- Eric Geller
Hello it is me. Mr.Laporte thanks for using it. This app needs your authentication since we cannot check out your profile if it is private. I coded many ff apps and thousands of people used them safely. If you dont trust you can revoke its access to your account from http://friendfeed.com/setting... as I said, it is safe. %90 of Twitter and FF apps use this OAuth system. Enjoy!

Btw it works for normal ff users. If you just import your rss twitter lastfm etc, it cannot determine the time precisely.

I just allowed it access to check my stat, then revoked it. It said August 6th, 2008. Apparently I didn't save my original gmail confirmation, but I see people started subscribing to me very soon after. Scoble subscribed to me Aug 20, 2008 so I must have done something right.

I just checked, and it said I just started today. I know it was in early 2008.

Mine also claimed it was today. If I could access gmail I could see when I got my confirmation email :(

"How do you see smartphone keyboards evolving? Do you believe the familiarity and feedback of a hardware keyboard makes entering letters and words easier, or can a software keyboard with smart correct/replace/suggest features can function just as well?"
- LANjackal
from Bookmarklet
Trust Kevin Purdy to misunderstand the issue: it is not about typing occasional replies or shorter notes - where software keyboards are as good, or almost as good as hardware ones It's about using the smartphone, of which iPhone is an instance, as a terminal/ storage unit for longer pieces one might need to type in without lugging around a laptop [I often find myself in that situation...

- Darren Stuart
I need real keys at least to pick up the phone and skip to next track in player. And when it comes to text messages, number keyboard on Nokia works better for me than an on screen one for iPhone. Not sure if i need a QWERTY keyboard on a phone, but at least some keys are a must.

Didn't you say something similar about the Nokia N97 a few months ago?
- Beau Giles
You've got to tell me more than that for me to believe why you might throw your Mac away??
- Aaron Myers
Really - with the build quality they are renown for!!

If it runs windows 7 then at least there is some reason for this madness. Anything else and you've completely lost your mind!
- Devlin Dunsmore
Amit: I can't explain why, sorry, but this will get a lot of attention and Apple will have to react to it. Why do you think Apple has been attacking Windows 7?
- Robert Scoble
Looks like a "laptop" and it's "black".
- thund3rbox
Yes, it looks sleek, but it's still a Dell.
- Bob Young
From the keyboard, it looks like a 15.4" or 17" widescreen that's super thin. (keyboard is chiklet-style)

Yes, I got excited by the Palm Pre but I don't think I said the Pre would get me to throw away my iPhone. Of course we don't know what Apple will do but this will make Apple guys at least raise their eyebrows.

- RobinDotNet
@Robert "Steve: all I can say is it has stuff Apple doesn't yet do...." TBH, there has been a lot of things the Macbook line hasn't been up to par feature wise for a long time. This isn't nothing new. My 1yr old XPS has eSATA, "F/W", "ExpressCard", 10in1 MMC, Biometrics, HDMI, Blu Ray, 4USB and integrated 3G all of which would be 'show stoppers' if Apple announced them. So its all relative.
- Adi
Adi, those features would become "amazing" and "new" were they announced by Apple -- much the same way that video is suddenly an amazing new feature of iPhones.
- Christopher A Carr
"has stuff Apple doesn't yet do" ... hmmm ... when placed on a Microsoft Surface it transforms into a puck for Microsoft Surface Hockey, played by waving your hands at the built-in Natal controllers.
- Don Strickland
Will it run Pro Tools. It seems as if I need to use it for digital editing of raw audio.
- Mathew A. Koeneker
Mathew: I would imagine it would, but I don't have it to try that, so will have to wait to tell you definitively.

Thanks, Robert. Being out of the music & video biz since '97 has me playing catch up. The KDHX studios where I will be working are a mac house.

Since it looks like a shell.. I will assume its the touchscreen with MS Surface on Windows 7 :)

- matjeka
To back Robert up, I got to try this bad boy right after him. And I can agree, this will make me switch too (after 25 solid years of Mac OS) Holy crap, Dell must have a secret time machine in the basement if 1/2 of these "special" features are true. WOW WOW WOW, and price...WOW!!!
- sean andersen
Robert, Honestly I am not really impressed by the picture, as some mentioned before it most likely is not Mac OS X, is it? And what about battery life, does it match the MBP 17 inch battery life time?
- Peter Simoons
If this feels better to use than a mac, then it will do well. A shopping list of new features won't matter if it doesn't do the core things that make people love Macs.
- Sam
from twhirl
I don't believe you :) Let's revisit this thread when it comes out and see if you follow through
- Bwana ☠
So this is going to bring beleaguered Dell out of the doldrums? Apple did that, but I'll not hold my breath because of Dell's basic build-em-cheap philosophy.
- Rick Cogley
there's claims it is sporting a Mobile Intel GMA 4500MHD, Series 4 for video.. if so, that's one giant missed opportunity!
- alphaxion
touch screen would be great, there is a big need in netbooks because of the improvement of usable input area
- Mike Chelen
ok, I'm also intrigued. I can't figure out what is so special about this new notebook.
- timepilot
Robert: Can have your Mac when you're done with it? :)
- John Fox
Hmmm ... I am thinking Dell beat Crunchpad to market with a touchscreen running Win7... If so, Yay for Dell, way to go!!! I will definitely want a Z if so!! *Looks around for @RichardatDELL* :)
- Susan Beebe
The way things are going my mom will never get her new computer. I keep telling her something better is just around the corner.
- ChiliMac
I'm assuming it's windows 7 multi touch and gestural support. The surface code that's now part of windows 7...
- mikepk
mikepk: there are more features than that that Apple doesn't yet have. Gotta wait, though, I promised not to leak.
- Robert Scoble
Dont throw it away! Im sure there are plenty of people that would love to have your old mac!
- James Hague
If it doesn't run OS X it's pointless.
- Peter Kruit
Peter: it runs it, but you can't buy OSX legally for use on non Apple computers. I totally disagree with your thesis, though. I'm running Windows 7 right now on my Mac and it works VERY NICELY.
- Robert Scoble
I'm sure Windows 7 is working nicely, but Windows just doesn't compare to OS X. Mind you, I've only been using OS X for a year now. Before that I was a Windows/DOS user.
- Peter Kruit
Peter: again, I totally disagree. It's clear you haven't tried Windows 7 out on your Mac yet. There are many things in it that are nicer than Apple has. Especially the toolbar and especially Google Chrome.
- Robert Scoble
I have tried Windows 7. It's the same registry and DLL hell that it's always been.
- Peter Kruit
Agree with Scoble... Win7 has many things nicer than OSX.
- Adnan
Peter: I haven't had a problem with DLL hell and the registry for years. I guess you still trying to run VB 2.0 apps? ;-)
- Robert Scoble
1. Never put anything into the registery unless it will affect another part of the system. 2. DLL hell ended in Win98. WinXP/2000 added a way to solve all DLL problems with no rebooting, but the coders have been lazy/ignorant (see #1).
- xero
Yes, case in point- and that's a deal breaker for just about any Mac user.
- Dean Kakridas
from email
I switched to Macs 3 years ago but I have to say Windows 7 will make me rethink that decision. It is much more than a "Vista Service Pack".
- Steve de Mena
My husband has a Dell laptop and it's really nice, so I am definitely gonna check the Z out...
- Susan Beebe
Peter: It is possible to install MAC OSX on your Dell thanks to the OSx86 Project: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki... Although it may not be entirely legal this is still going to happen and Apple should roll with it and embrace the hacker culture. If this Dell can run Boot Camp (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki...), and give users the option of running either Mac or Vista that would be awesome!
- Garin Kilpatrick
Garin: that's possibly the ultimate manifestation of "lipstick on a pig"!

- Jason, Incognito
Jason: it doesn't have Vista. Thanks for playing.
- Robert Scoble
any idea if this is a joint effort with the alienware talent they acquired?
- Trey Philips
Even so, it's a Dell with Windows. If it's touchscreen, great. Facial recognition? Bleh. Unless it runs on cold fusion and can predict the future, it's still just a Dell with Windows. That said, I love W7. But I love Mac OS X much more.
- Jason, Incognito
Jason: let's talk after you see it. You might still be a Mac fan but you will at least pause after you see the secret stuff this does.
- Robert Scoble
I remember when Apple's PowerBooks had that rubbery/leathery black finish. Dell's bringing the PowerBook-y back, evidentally.
- Wade Dorrell
Fair enough. I believe you saw some things that really were impressive, so I suppose I can withhold judgement. I'm just naturally skeptical of "this is a Mac killer" or "this is an iPod killer" comments, since so many have tried and ultimately failed.
- Jason, Incognito
Jason: You are right on. And furthermore, many have not even really "tried". Nothing out there that claims to even compete with Apple products have put close to the level of time, resource, and dollar investment in design and software that Apple has. Anyone who has been in the tech industry for the past 10 years now knows that there's Apple and then a bunch of pretenders and bad imitators.
- Dean Kakridas

That's like saying I am throwing away my Mercedes for the new Chrysler. You still get Dell support and service which has forced me to find new vendors. Wish windows server products ran on os x server. Then we could go all mac hardware.
- Dan Douglass
from Nambu
I've never had a single problem with Dell support. Apple's on the other hand is useless. 10 working day repair time for a machine, compared to next business from Dell. Had to repair a failing disk ourselves because Apple wouldn't replace it, if tech tools said it was bad, 'tech tools isn't any good', and when disk utility said it was bad, 'tech tools is more accurate'. Wouldn't put anything important on Apple hardware or support.

I've been using Twhirl - i like it, however there's so much hype on Tweetdeck these days, thinking of switching - does Tweetdeck give more? my appreciation!
- Aline Ohannessian
Tweedeck. I just want it to handle multiple accounts.
- Neal Jansons
Tweet deck is great if you have a large or extra screen, but Twhirl works better on a smaller screen
- Kim Landwehr
If you're looking for simplicity, stick with twhirl, if you want more features, like Mark mentioned, columns and being able to place peeps into groups, go with Tweet deck. Plus, what Kim Landwehr said.
- Sharon McPherson
You guys are AWESOME! truly appreciate your thoughts !!!!
- Aline Ohannessian
Twirl. Tweetdeck takes up too much real estate on my netbook.
- Helen Sventitsky
Aline: I've been using seesmic for the past few days, really liking it, except no integration with FriendFeed, yet.
- Sharon McPherson
Seesmic is pretty nice as well. You get multiple columns like Tweetdeck, but can manage multiple accounts like Twhirl. Only thing I didn't like about it is that you can't filter tweets in a column like you can with Tweetdeck
- mark
Oh yeah, and what Sharon said...there's currently no Facebook integration w/ Seesmic (IMO, a huge plus for Tweetdeck)

Seesmic is good, but until it has @username autocomplete I can't deal with it. Also a bit buggy.
- Neal Jansons
from IM
of course tweetdeck.. also these 2 are not comparable ..
- Ruhani Rabin
neither. peoplebrowsr (use in lite mode to start for simplicity) much more powerful that tweetdeck seesmic or twhirl, and runs a lot faster too
- guruvan (Rob Nelson)
I agree with guruvan, if you want to use a web app, peoplebrowsr is the best so far. A friend of mine made a video a few weeks ago giving some starter tips for peoplebrowsr. http://www.youtube.com/watch...
- Sharon McPherson
peoplebrowsr comes in an air app as well - I do highly recommend new users try the lite mode first, and then move up to the business or advance modes. it's extremely feature-rich. and is very mature for an Alpha-stage product. Better than most late-stage beta products IMO
- guruvan (Rob Nelson)
Tweetdeck by far...its more organized, there is also Seesmic Desktop ;)
- Ahmed
For Twitter? Neither. I use Tweetvisor. I use Twhirl for FriendFeed but it's pretty poor atm. Let's hope Seesmic Desktop supports FriendFeed properly. :-)
- Kol Tregaskes
Uh, Kol, you misspelt Twitter as titter :)
- Roberto Bonini
very simple.. if u have less than 400 followers/follows u can use twhirl .. otherwise the only possible tool is tweetdeck .. until seesmic added more features and usability...
- Ruhani Rabin
I like peoplebrowsr for similar reasons: it supports twitter, friendfeed, facebook, identi.ca and ping.fm for posting, and a plethora of sites for reading (digg, myspace, youtube, seesmic, photobucket, flickr, plaxo, RSS, and random URLs)
- guruvan (Rob Nelson)
I use twhirl for FF action and Tweetdeck for twitter only, tweetdeck is used for the grouping and column options as well as the added facebook status feature.
- Charles Rice
TweetDeck - the Twhirl/Seesmic Desktop UI just doesn't appeal to me
- Nathan Chase
Twhirl - I love the 'ping on reply only' feature. And the optional integration of search results into the main stream is also awesome.
- Markus Merz
TweetDeck at the moment on my main machine! Twhirl/Seesmic is improving! I m trying Tweetie on my MacBook! I love Tweetie on the iPhone :)
- Frank Da Silva
PeopleBrowsr seems the most promising - it used to crash on me when I tried it... anyone know if it has improved recently? Otherwise, I like Seismic Desktop
- Jannifer @wordsforliving
Jannifer: PeopleBrowsr is quite stable and very snappy now. There are still a few bugs in it (it's still alpha, v.0.999 last one) should be beta very shortly. I use it everyday, all day. I'm currently running about 25 stacks in it, too.
- guruvan (Rob Nelson)
Yep! I'm really happy with it, especially with the 3 modes of operation, and the settable color themes.
- guruvan (Rob Nelson)
I'm a Tweetdeck convert from Twhirl. I like that I can make as many columns as I like, which really comes in handy for making sure I don't miss my girlfriend's tweets...and then consequently hearing about it later. LOL
- Carlton Hackett
Tweetdeck for the groups and columns, but I'm trying out Nambu this week. Haven't decided which of the two I prefer yet.
- Carmen - Happy 2010!
I've used both but my current fave is Seesmic Desktop.
- Tim Kissane
I use both because I have multiple twitter accounts. if tweetdeck supported multiple accounts, I'd use it exclusively
- Andrea Hill
Actually, I use the new Twhirl, Seesmic Desktop. On Windows only though. Gwibber FTW on Ubuntu.
- Amy H.
i'm liking the "peoplebrowser" and "seesmic" some of you mentioned herein - thanks for enlightening me to applications - Blessings :)
- Aline Ohannessian
seesmic was too slow for my taste, columns too wide, and so on. I'm looking for large amounts of data, and peoplebrowsr is the only solution in that regard. Tweetdeck is limited to 10 columns, and I have about 30 in my peoplebrowsr
- guruvan (Rob Nelson)
1) browser with scripts 2) Twhirl 3) Tweetdeck
- Michael Fidler
Neither. I use the webs and tabbed browsing. LOL. Looking at Flock as an option.
- Justin Whitaker
@Justin Whitaker: Flock is a great browser for everything we're talking about herein - you can pretty much bring in Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Gmail, Yahoo, Digg, (there's more i'm sure i'm forgetting) as well as your own Blog's feed - the only thing with Flock is that it's a little slow - but i recommend it :o)
- Aline Ohannessian
I am using TweetDeck and started experimenting with Seesmic Desktop.Yesterday Seesmic Desktop send an upgrade and now it does not work. I am going to try to reload software. I am pretty happy with TweetDeck because it is stable and was enjoying Seesmic till stopped working.
- Jose Luis Santos
I was playing with streamy.com yesterday-that looks to be another all in one option. Other than the OPML feeds not importing yet, it's really slick.

He didn't look straight into the camera, however - as pointed out by Steve Garfield.
- l0ckergn0me
8. He knows that the real problem is that they hired idiots and are "reexamining" all hiring practices. THAT is the best way to make sure you get a good brand.
- Robert Scoble
9. He used personal language "it sickens me." Not marketing speak.
- Robert Scoble
Interesting mix of being apologetic and totally pissed at the same time. Overall thumbs up from me.
- Mike Doeff
10. He is working to "regain our trust."
- Robert Scoble
Is there anything else he could have done to answer this crisis?
- Robert Scoble
He didn't offer us a coupon to make us feel better. I didn't feel condescended to.
- Kevin Fox
Good lead, Robert. Glad to see discussion around the response.
- Valeria Maltoni
Now if he could just work on making the pizza not taste so bad.
- Dave Roth
now is the best time to go to Domino's in Conover. clean as a whistle.
- nesman89
I don't mind that he didn't look straight into the camera. That shows he isn't "slick" or "overcoached."
- Robert Scoble
Yes, it would have been better if he had looked into the camera, but given that a teleprompter is an expensive item, and rigging a two-way mirror with a magnified view of a printed script is a hassle... I think the minor shortfall can be forgiven. All seven of Robert's points remain absolutely valid.
- David Muir
Textbook is the best way to go. Swift and done. Now in time, people will forget, crave cheap, fast, and delivered food, and it's over.
- Mike Lewis
Very well handled. I agree with you, Robert, this will make its way into textbooks alongside Tylenol's response to the poisoning crisis three decades ago.
- Stephen Mack
so far this year, that's, what, rats in the peanuts, perchlorate in the babby formula, prescription drugs in the drinking water, snot in the pizza... what was safe to ingest again?
- Karim
Bravo, Dominos. Nicely done. Speak up or be spoken for.
- kevin j higgins
But he's using a teleprompter. He's evil.
- tehKenny, Dork
tehKenny: I don't think he was. I bet that he was looking at some notes, though. It didn't come across like he was reading. For someone not experienced with a teleprompter you can not use one and not come across like you're reading.
- Robert Scoble
Their response was appropriate and in a timely manner which is key now.
- Christi
Anyone who has ever used a teleprompter realizes how hard it is to use one and how hard it is to look natural doing it. I bet he had someone off to the side of the camera he was talking to who was holding notes up to remind him what to talk.
- Robert Scoble
I wasn't there, obviously, but watching the CEO look off-camera yet speak as if to a person made me think he was looking at a person to stay "real" and "personable" and not canned or offering a performance.
- Bloom Seed
Carmen: "W" had a LOT of media training and a team of people to tell him how to do it. I doubt this CEO has had much media training.
- Robert Scoble
rewatching it makes it clear that he's reading notes (his focus starts at top, moves down as recording proceeds). Still, though, comes across as a real person. Not everything needs professional actors, producers, makeup, sets...imperfect may be the new perfect, as far as communicating genuineness.
- Bloom Seed
Comes across as very heart-felt, and almost makes me want to order with them (I'm not sure we have them here in this town)! Shouldn't they have added something like "We'll now be installing cams in all our kitchens streaming direct to Ustream, making us the ONLY food delivery you can trust to not mess your food"? :)
- Philipp Lenssen
Philipp: well, that would certainly be cool but would be way beyond something they could deliver on in two days.
- Robert Scoble
I mean, I'm not a big fan of Dominos, but this helps them establish themselves as giving a crap. Good PR move.
- Mike Nayyar
Great video response straight from the company president. As for watching food getting prepared, the Papa John's locations that I've been to are open and you can basically see them making your pie. Not sure if Domino's has stores like that...
- Doug
solid performance-- came across naturally and believable, blend of professionalism and good ole fashion ass-kicking anger. It was smooth but not overly slick; no suit or tie and shot in store surrounding. Content was solid too, assuring customers everything that could be done was being done. One minor tweak: he doesn't appear to be looking directly at the camera.
- mark ivey
I wonder if they thought about making it a response to "that video" on youtube to get the eyeballs needed to make this count..
- Tom Masiero
Ari - it's more than "just pizza" - it's the livelihood of 125k employees. We are focused here on a textbook response, but this is also a clear demonstration of the power of leverage that SM holds: two idiots can do major damage to the brand, the company, and by ultimately to the employees. Hat's off to Mr. Doyle and his advisers.
- Bill Sanders
Rewatched it and yes he is reading it. Regardless, I think it was handled pretty appropriately.
- Jay Neff
good job. small nit: next time they need to move the teleprompter (or cue cards) either over or under the camera.
- MikeAmundsen
Video is good if Good Messenger (which Domino's guy IS) But also put the incident on my radar screen, which hitherto I was unaware of.
- JimmyJet
Wasn't aware of the incident but sure feel bad for the independent operator..
- MiaD
The woman in the Wendy's chili fraud case ended up sentenced to 9 years in prison and her husband (who bought the finger off a co-worker who lost it in an industrial accident) got 12 years. http://www.bluemaumau.org/wendys_...
- Kevin Fox
I wish that he was looking at the camera instead of a telepromter. Just sayin.
- Andrew Baron
Andrew: he's not looking at a teleprompter. I bet someone is holding a notepad with an outline on it for him.
- Robert Scoble
I haven't had Domino's in a long time. But, I'm happy to see that they put up this Video response to the malicious destruction of their Brand and business practices.
- rob friedman
good job. that was a classy way to 'avoid the noid.'
- grant fox
Hey Robert, can I use some of your reasons in a blog post in writing up about the Domino's issue?
- Kenneth
"Everyone else is doing it right." Yeah, right. [What are the odds of that?]
- Craig Brownell
I kept hoping he'd actually look into the camera.
- James Miao
I agree with James. I was hoping that he would look at the camera like he's talking to his customers. I get that he needs to make sure he says exactly what needs to to said, but the way he kept looking away from the camera made it seem a little "stiff".
- Kenneth
like when dirk diggler looked into the camera during his documentary. that was powerful stuff.
- grant fox
Kenneth: that's a mistake someone who isn't media trained makes. I actually don't mind that because it makes it less slick.
- Robert Scoble
My guess is that they're multiple cameras and he's looking at the expensive one
- Bwana ☠
Robert: Really? If corporate heads are on camera, they should NOT look at the camera especially if they're not being interviewed? It looks natural not to look at the camera? You're definitely right...I'm not media trained. :) Looks like he was reading off of a script and didn't notice a camera at him.
- Kenneth
Who was he talking to? The sound guy holding the microphone to the right of the camera?
- Diego Barros
Kenneth: the only time you should look at the camera is when you want to speak directly to the viewer. You are right that he should have been speaking directly into the camera. Knowing where to look is part of media training. A good PR team could have helped (IE, one that had worked a lot with video before) but I can't really blame him. I still have trouble figuring this out. When I was on the BBC it was very difficult to look into the camera (it was aplate on the wall).
- Robert Scoble
i just have to say, that by him not looking in the camera, or really doing any of this before it seems adds to his character that he's a regular guy, not some PR trained monkey doing a dance for us.
- rob friedman
I dunno, I think it's more important that the response seem unrehearsed. I'll bet he did it in one take.
- Ken Morley
Well done Robert: not a surprise to see this crew recognizes excellence when they see it. Dominos did virtually everything right on this aspect of its response. having seen a few crises, this example is among the best. blogged it here: http://www.mediadeluge.com/post...
- Christian Anderson
Just to let folks know: the teleprompters I am familiar with allow the newscaster or talking head to look directly at the camera AND read the script. The result is like a HUD (heads-up display) for those familiar with video games or jet fighters.
- David Muir
Right David, but there are all kinds of "teleprompters" some low tech and some higher tech. the point is he was reading. It was okay, he did a great job in one take. It would have been better if he hadnt read it and looked directly at the camera, but because everything else was so well done, the reading gets a pass
- Christian Anderson
Not a fan of their pies, but kudos to Dominoes for the forthright reply and apology for the miscreants who brought this upon them. Hope they rebound well from this.
- JA Castillo
Definitely a canned response but still heartfelt and sincere. Plus we learned its a federal felony to stuff cheese up your nose on camera. Imagine what happens at McDonalds on a daily basis - now that's frightening.
- Chris Sparno
Very lucky that they had a CEO that even was willing to talk for YouTube in the moment; let's not now criticize him for his media training, or none will ever have the guts to do it again.
- Francine Hardaway
Rich: This is deadly serious for him. He's right to take it seriously and I'm sure he genuinely does.
- Michael Krigsman
So the real question is, who feels comfortable enough to order Domino's this weekend?
- Chris Bartow
I do Chris, even more-so now than before. This weekend will be the cleanest in the franchise's history :)
- Bwana ☠
@Karim: "snot in the pizza... what was safe to ingest again?" Years ago, I ordered a pizza (not from Domino's) and was surprised to see a piece of broken glass in it — and this particular glass shard had part of the pizza company logo on it! When I phoned them about it, they replaced the pizza in record time; of course, they asked for the broken glass back, too, so I couldn't keep the evidence.
- Victor Panlilio
Victor *shudder* i think i would have just given up eating pizza after that :-D
- Karim
The comments on You Tube are negative I don't agree with them, what is your opinion abut them? (They say Doyle is not sincere)
- Maurizio Goetz
Rule #0 - Youtube comments have the value of a single molecule of feces
- Bwana ☠
His response was right on and pretty smart for doing it via a video. It's sad but we are at the mercy of people that prepare our food. :-( I kind of feel bad for the kids because what they did shows a complete lack of intelligence. It would be nice if they took responsible and apologized in some sort of public forum.
- John McCullough
@John McCullough "we are at the mercy of people that prepare our food" and people who pilot the planes we fly in, treat our municipal drinking water, etc. I daresay we only appreciate them when things go horribly wrong.
- Victor Panlilio
@Chris White "The founder of Domino's supports Right to LIfe and Operation Rescue, which IMO, is worse than putting farts on sandwiches" Really? Watch the video at http://www.abortionno.org/ and see if you can stomach the idea that we dispose of unwanted human beings so cavalierly.
- Victor Panlilio
Victor, your comment as well as John's above you, reminds me of that line in Fight Club: "We do your laundry, cook your food and serve you dinner. We guard you while you sleep. We drive your ambulances..."
- Aaron Kurtz
@Aaron - almost everything we take for granted in "civilized society" depends on the everyday goodwill (and conscientiousness) of anonymous others. I've always thought that we need to become more mindful of the benefits we daily receive from these enablers of our well-being. Count your blessings, etc.
- Victor Panlilio
For me, it's indexing PDF images. For example, if I scan something at work, Evernote won't index it. I have to take the intermediate step of doing a snapshot of the PDF to get it to index. Evernote has said on their forums that they plan on adding this functionality though.

I really wish I could automatically import content from RSS feeds. I've been messing about trying to import my tumblr entries via email (RSSfwd) and the results have been rather unsatisfactory.
- David Adam
David, I haven't been able to get RSSFwd to work for me either... If you don't mind your RSS feed posts being sent as a daily collection, I'd recommend using FeedBurner like I am (see comments here: http://friendfeed.com/e...). That works pretty well.
- Lindsay is in 20-ten
Thanks for the tip Lindsay. I got Feedburner working but I couldn't stand the formatting; the tumblr feed looked awful after being imported. Maybe I should try importing my FF items instead, that might work out a bit better.

RE: image rotation in Evernote on the Mac... I just figured out how to do it... Right-click on the image in question, and select 'Open with', then open the image with Preview. Select 'Tools' on the menu bar, and then select 'Rotate Left' or 'Rotate Right'. Then, close the Preview window, making sure to save your change. This will change the image orientation in Evernote.
