ASUS has finally unleashed the first of it's new 12-inch line of Netbooks into the wilds of Amazon and put the Eee 1201N up for pre-order on Amazon's US site in a choice of black or silver. With a release date of January 15th, the 1201N can be yours for $499.99, or the same price in Euros on Amazon's European sites (although not the UK site yet). Robotic Netbook Goes Mobile with a Lego Chassis!
Evan, Phil and Ron of the University of Vermont show off their Computer Science Final Project. They used an Acer Aspire One and built a Lego Chassis and this Rover Robot gets a tour of campus! They used a Wii remote over a wireless network to a netbook that remote controls the Rover robot through Bluetooth. They used Lejos 0.8.5 to program the brick. That's all the information I can give you about the little guy as the audio track has been disabled on this video. If you can fwd to about 1 minute to see it in action. Barnes & Noble nook ereader unboxing
Barnes and Noble have officially announced their ebook reader, the Barnes and Noble Nook. It offers dual displays and free 3G and WiFi b/g wireless. The nook has a 6-inch E Ink Vizplex E Ink display up top and a 3.5-inch color touchscreen underneath, with the whole thing based on Android and measuring 7.7 x 4.9 x 0.5-inches while tipping the scales at 11.2oz.
